    Any Charlotte Nc Sleevers?

Hi dentalgurl I usually use that same user name ... Been in dentistry for 13 yrs and was sleeved Feb. 25th by Dr. Kuwada at Carolina's weight management and like you approval was easy, and I've lost about 22 lbs. good luck!!!
  2. I have laughed until I think I inked! Girl I feel ya I was there a couple of weeks ago and my dog, cat and even my 14 yr. old started looking a little tasty. Hang in there is all I can offer. Oh by the way I gave in to a hamburger and fries about day 8 so don't let people make you feel imperfect for falling off, and I had surgery and nothing happened. This is why we are sleeved!
  3. Syrups are the answer to water boredom. Try flavored syrups with a few sweeteners. You can also make your water count by adding a scope of protein powder to it. And lastly, you can try flavored teas that are decafe with sweeteners.

    Newbie

Hi Chevonne, I was sleeved the 25th just the day before you. It has been difficult these past few days but we have to remember why we did this! In order to change your body, you must change your mind and soul. You can't cure your new body with your old mind it just want work. Remember this is just a brief moment in our journey and the outcome will be well worth it. Eating for me has been the thing that comforted me but I now will find comfort in eating heathy and the compliments I'm going to receive instead of the looks of judgement. This hasn't been easy nor should it be, nothing worth working for ever is. Keep telling yourself that and even when you don't believe it say it anyway. Put pics up of what you want to look like, be like and feel like and look at it daily. And lastly visit YouTube and look at stories if those going through it now and those that have come out on the other side fit and healthy for encouragement. Here are a few I watch and subscribed to: bandedwendy, pwls works, nikmac, and ghrenlinbgone. These are all women and men who have recorded their journey or are going through currently just like you and I. I hope this helps and remember to change your body you have to change your mind! Keep up the hard work it's worth it!!!!!!

    Swelling

    Thanks Laura!
  6. I am 6 days post op and my belly is still swollen especially around one incision in particular. Is anyone having this issue or had this issue? It's actually indented around the incision as well. Any feedback is appreciated.

    African American Sleevers

I am 4 days post op. I did a 2 wk. pre op liquid diet, and I am currently on a clear liquid diet that consist of protein shakes and water. These past 3 weeks have been uncomfortable and frustrating but well worth it. I have BCBS of Michigan , I began my journey of the first info class Dec. 27th, saw the doc on Jan. 3rd, completed all requirements in January , no diet plan needed with my insurance and surgery completed February 25th 2013. For me this was the easiest process I have ever endured. Surgery day was tough and painful of course the days that have followed have gotten better day by day. Today I went to SAMs with my husband and son, BIG mistake I wanted to eat everything I saw even the samples which I never found appealing before surgery. My advice to my sisters and brothers is keep temptation to a minimum. Don't cook for family while doing pre op and post op, don't go to restaurants, don't even think you can do it! This is your time and everyone around you needs to understand you are on the most important journey of your life and your family won't starve if you stop cooking for them for a little while. And when you do begin again intro new healthy meals everyone can enjoy. Those friends that are eating buddies ,either cut them loose or encourage they change as well. I did with my friend of 23 years, she joined weight watchers prior to my surgery so by the time I'm ready to eat real food again she will be well on her way to losing weight as well. People who love and care for you will change for you those who want just aren't worth risking your health for. We are food addicts, you wouldn't take a recovering alcoholic to an open bar. So stay away from buffets, and those places that caused you to overeat. Someone asked me how are you losing weight and I just kindly said I stopped going to the drive thru and began going to the gym and the health food store! Good luck everyone and I am here if you questions or just support! God bless!!!!

    post op diet

Oh my I am 4 days post op and I am having the same experience. Not sure if its gas , I've been taking gas x and no relief. I have just today began to belch which helps those chest pains and I also make sure I'm drinking standing up that also seems to help. Hope it helps you as well.
  9. I am 4 days post op and just left SAMs today very hungry and wondering if I can do this. I am still on Clear liquids and just want to chew something. Looking forward to blenderizing food next week. I'm down 11 lbs and that keeps me going. But I agree with you " stay away from super stores"!!!!!
