Contact Dermatitis 1 month out of Surgery
Not Applicable replied to 007sleever007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis about a year ago. I take Zyrtec every night which helps a lot vs. daytime meds that just make me sleepy. Sorry you have to go through this, definitely not fun. -
Yay Yay Yay! Congrats!!

Just wanted to say I have chosen not to repost my pic because I received some unwanted sexually suggestive PM's when my pic was posted. I did not take take down my pic due to a privacy issue. IMHO you can never know someone's motivation unless they share it with you.

Kudos to her for supporting / sharing her love language with you in a healthier way. Kudos to you for staying strong when she shares her love of cooking w/others who are not as diligent about their health.

I'm throwing away my granny panties! (and other panty victories)

Congrats! When you do step into Victoria's Secret, be prepared for a shock! Bras & Panties are way more expensive then I remember. $62.00 for a bra?? But, they look darn sexy & need something now that the old ones don't fit! -
I can definitely see a difference in your thighs, waist, and even your arms. You should definitely be very pleased with yourself!

Waffling, Waffling, Waffling

I have been in you shoes. My highest starting weight was 255. I am 5feet 7, so that put me around a 40BMI. On the 9 month pre-op plan I lost 55lbs. My family REALLY tried to discourage me from surgery saying that my weight loss was evidence I could do it myself. The thing is, I have lost weight before, many, many, many times. I have said b4 that I was a great dieter, sucky maintainer, and super regainer (plus more). I knew I had to do something different this time, or I would just end up repeating my old patterns. (Remember that saying about Insanity: doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different outcome). Upon much reflection / prayer/ counseling, I decided to think of the pre-op weight loss as part of my recovery & beginning of a new life. I had surgery at 198, at a 33 BMI. Many (family included) would call me a crazy person for having WLS at that BMI. But, I know myself and know my history. I have since come to terms with the fact that WLS was simply a last chance scenario for me. My point is only you know you. I'm certain in time you will make the best choice for you. -

Weight gain six weeks out...
Not Applicable replied to Hopeful in Rochester's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
PITA stalls!! Sounds like you are doing everything right . (Well w/ the possibility eating & drinking more might help). Hang in there, it will pass -
Shared this with my husband who said we obviously need to work on procreating today... Thanks!!! BTW: Any word on if only 1 of the parents has WLS??

Did you have second thoughts?
Not Applicable replied to ladylaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I Agree!!!! I was still making up my mind the day of surgery! The morning of surgery my husband and I were standing outside the hospital and he said to me, "You know you don't have to do this. We could go get Breakfast or go for a walk on the beach or something"... And I said, "no, I'm doing this". Only then did I know I had made my decision. -
Bmi 35 Its possible insurance approved?
Not Applicable replied to marielove's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was a 35 BMI w/ high blood pressure at the time they submitted my paperwork to my insurance. I was approved upon appeal. -
I asked the surgery coordinator at work who said 330 is good if you are already a smallish C and want to become a Mid-D (whatever will look proportional to the rest of your body). But the main thing is how you feel when trying on the sizes. Definitely a good idea to take the samples home and test them out, if you can. BTW: I was a 40/42 E & now 36DD. When I reach my goal I will definitely be looking into a lift. (Shhh don't tell my husband. He has a thing about plastics which is hilarious considering where I work).

My insensitive coworker

Maybe you could let it go for today, but if it happens again (& it probably will since they seem hopelessly clueless), you could prepare yourself to tactfully address the issue with them. -
My insensitive coworker
Not Applicable replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This was hilarious!!! When people have said ridiculously insensitive things to me in the past I have silently reminded myself, "Water off a duck's back" now I'll just think they're "pig crap". Thank you!! -
Would you have paid without insurance coverage?
Not Applicable replied to Houston17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely have to go to Mexico for surgery if my insurance didn't approve me. I already owe over $50k in student loans so have no idea where I would find the extra money. Lotto maybe?? -

Is Cigna always a nightmare to get approval?
Not Applicable replied to sissytx's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Cigna too. My surgery coordinator mentioned they are by far one of the more difficult insurances to work with. I was initially denied, but approved upon appeal. I hope your process is fast & easy. -
