Are you sticking with high protein foods? I would really try to push back to eating every 3-4h vs 2, 2 is more like grazing and you will 100% stall and eventually gain (coming from experience) make sure you aren’t drinking for the 30 and increase your fluids. Go back to the basics, take time to eat, mindful eating, journal your food.

5ish days but it will be weeks before you really feel significantly better

Tell me your best vitamin tips with gastric bypass
Macy6 replied to Panda333's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I will tell you this. I have taken the same multi vitamin since the start and they just pulled me off of it. I have had increased nausea and even taking it with food and at night I have woke up in the middle of the night and needed Zofran. My point being don’t buy 90 day supplies of anything until you know you tolerate it. -

I’ve seen this used. I seem to be right where I should be. Everyone is different, every surgery is different but as a rough guide it might help. What surgery did you have? The Get~2~Goal app is research driven and tracks your progress compared to thousands of others but its meant for Gastric Bypass.

VSG to RNY - The Good & The Bad
Macy6 replied to NovemberSleever's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had VSG 8/27/13, my RnY was 6/4/19 (so I can only give you about a 3 month update) 1. None, it’s been great. 2. My weight loss has been percentage wise better than my sleeve. I was 322 when I was sleeved, had a low of 242 with that. I was 248 with my RnY and am currently 213. At the 3 month mark I had lost around 24% of my excess body weight with the sleeve. I am around 38% down of my excess body weight with my RnY. (From my heaviest to now including both surgeries I am down 65% of my EBW) I lose 2-4# a week. My restriction is better than I had with the sleeve. I have no real intolerances. I had bad stomach cramps when I tried tuna and haven’t tried that again but otherwise I eat fresh fruits and veggies, meats, dairy etc. 3. Mine was done for GERD and it seems to be gone. I cut to half on my protonix post op and should come off it in a couple weeks at my next appt. 4. None. I’m very happy. Any issues I have are in my head (fixating on the scale stuff like that. It’s hard to slow down and enjoy the journey. -
I just did this early June. I was around 5.5 years out from sleeve. I didn’t have any issues with the sleeve and my RnY revision has been equally smooth. I prefer the restriction of the RnY vs the Sleeve and my loss has been more significant percentage wise vs my sleeve. Getting used to the vitamins has been a struggle I never took them with the sleeve nor did I need them.

This happened with me. The surgeon office puts in an anticipated date of surgery and when they actually schedule it they send a revised letter with the actual date. I am sure your surgeons office can tell you more.

How important is the no drinking before?
Macy6 replied to Ellf's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can drink up until my first bite then no more. -
Just don’t restrict your calories even more and make sure you are getting in your water. The stall will break.
-
I have an extended release capsule that my pre op nurse told me to take the morning of surgery. My surgeon released me to start back on it as soon as I got home from the hospital.

I know my Bariatric Clinic works with patients that were done in Mexico, specifically patients with complications.

Cost of surgery -- WOW
Macy6 replied to 2ndTimeFreedom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was $42,000 before discounts, $12,000 in discounts. I had a 2 night stay. My surgeon and anesthesiologist fees were separate ($5,000 & $3,000 each) -
Physical occupation...Can you do?
Macy6 replied to mjrinere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a nurse, on my feet upwards of 12 hours a shift. I am required to be able to lift X amount of pounds and I’m on transport so I am required to be able to lift even more with that job. I was cleared at 4 weeks for everything. At work I take carefully portioned meals that I have journaled and portioned, so I don’t have to think about it. Some are small cold foods (quick grab items) others are small heat up items. I eat every 3-4 hours (helps keep my energy up) and I have my water bottle in arms length all other times. I am almost 7 weeks out and I am fine at work but definitely down longer when home. Just tired. -
Malabsorption of psych meds? Or any meds?
Macy6 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yeah I was started on an SSRI a month before surgery, which is an ER. My surgeon gave his blessing and told me I might need to increase my dose post op. So far (6 weeks out) I am OK but I keep it in mind.
