It's Spring Break. I wouldn't let her miss an hour of school for a dress fitting, let alone a week. As for getting to/from San Antonio, we have flight priviledges. The aunt lives in SA and Cheyenne would stay at her house. I'm not concerned about her safety. Of the groom's family, only his mom lives in SA and Cheyenne would not encounter any of his other relatives.

And I still may. I was just saying that my hands are not tied here....I do have the "last word".

Heck, no! It's not as if I called you a faggot. :faint:

You guys are so sweet....and honest....and helpful. One thing I forgot to mention...between them the bride and groom have 7 nieces/nephews. The only ones not invited to be in the wedding party (groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearer, etc) are Emily and her 6 year-old brother. He, however, doesn't care, so I did not make an issue of it.

Have they found the Boxes Jesus was buried in?

I have been noticing the same thing, and drawn the same conclusion. Many a man has been converted by a righteous (and persistant) wife. I actually think they are a great example of how people can get along if they want to, in spite of political differences. Or religious difference. Or any differences, for that matter. -

OMG!!!!:help: -
I never liked Ann Coulter, obviously. She's a fanatical ultra-conservative and I'm a liberal. But I was willing to live and let live - that is, not wish her any actual harm - until she let loose on the 9/11 widows. Now I hope she gets hit by a bus. I have been widowed myself - twice. It destroys your world. It rips you to pieces, especially if you have children. It is so intensely painful, you become numb. So when AC said of the 9/11 widows that she had "never seen anyone enjoying their husbands deaths so much", I was livid. She did not know those women, yet she called four of them "witches" and said they were using their grief to make a political point - because they supported John Kerry for President. It reminds me of the you-can-choose-not-to-be-gay refrain.....who WANTS to join these clubs - the persecuted minority club and the grieving widow club? What idiotic drivel.

Yep...just as I suspected - a Yankee. In the South he would have said, "My warshin machin's done give up the ghost."
-
No, she only gets the last word on who's invited to participate. Even Cheyenne's mother does not get the "last word" regarding her activities, although I respect her opinion and am always willing to listen to her input.

That was my first thought....does Emily even WANT to be in Auntie's wedding? Yes, she does. Her first question was, "Why did Auntie pick Cheyenne and not me? Does she like Cheyenne better than me? Does she think she's prettier?" How do you answer that? Emily also said, "Please tell Nanny not to stop Cheyenne from being in the wedding. She will think it's all my fault." The last word I received was this morning. Emily's father weighed in (how nice of him, since he does little else) and said he will pay for Emily's dress if his sister can find a place for her in the wedding. She (the aunt) is adamant, however, that Emily will NOT be part of the actual ceremony/bridal party, as she says that has already been "arranged". I'd like to add that Emily's hurt is compounded by the fact that she lived with this aunt for several months and feels quite a bond with her and her two young children.

I have to say from experience that toddlers are not good candidates for the bridal party. My DIL's mother insisted on having her 18 month old grandson perform as ring bearer at my son's wedding. It was a disaster. Children are just too unpredictable at that age. Dustin was disruptive, loud, and uncooperative. He finally had to be handed off to his grandmother so the ceremony could continue.

That can't be right. I'm a member in good standing of GRITS (girls raised in the South) and I've never heard anybody say "give up the goat".

Jesse Ventura could be his VP. Or that Dog guy - the bounty hunter. I can just see him and his wife at the White House. OMG! -
I always thought it was "gave up the ghost".

Ann Coulter has accused almost every liberal in politics of being gay, including both Bill and Hillary Clinton. And we all know what a good psychiatrist would make of THAT.
-
My DH, too. But some of the guys he worked with are still hangin' onto that "rebel without a cause" thing. Actually, I think they are more rebels-without-a-clue.
-
Hey, I've got your number. I married one of your co-workers....the place is a magnet for "bad boy" types.
-
This is SO true. Fortunately, I went thru my "bad boy" phase very early - around age 15. Those guys are HOT when they are young but middle-age rebels just have nothing to recommend them. They don't often make good husbands/fathers; they're very self-centered, and they tend to have career problems, resulting from a short temper and a bad attitude.

Close by my neighborhood, a new roadside memorial has been erected recently. A school mate of my granddaughter's was hit by a truck and killed, and I have no idea who erected the memorial, but it's obvious that others have added it (flowers, stuffed animals, etc). However, there were two young girls involved in that accident. The other will survive. What happens when she comes home and is confronted by this memorial on a daily basis? I think that in this case, it should be removed. Otherwise, I agree that they should stay up for a short time only - maybe 30 days. Homes and businesses used to display funeral wreaths on the door when there was a death in the family. Does anyone still do this?

Moreover, could any of you straight people become gay thru counseling? I doubt many have tried, but I know a number of gay people who wasted a lot of time and money trying to do so, because they very much wanted to feel like a "normal" human being. Who on God's green earth would CHOOSE to be part of a persecuted minority? That just makes no sense. -
You have a Yahoo husband AND an MSNBC husband? Wow! I only have one.....a Golf Channel husband.

Not a bypasser.....one of our own - a Bandster.

Perhaps, but this woman's admonishments have nothing to do with good manners. She maintains that you cannot take Communion if you have chewed gum in the last hour because, she says, it breaks the fast. My mother-in-law is almost 87 years old and suffers with dry mouth. She is seldom up to going to Mass any more, but when she does, she sometimes sucks on mints, or chews gum (very quietly), to help alleviate this condition. I intercepted one of this nut-case woman's notes intended for my MIL once. And frankly, it made me furious.

My husband will vote for whomever the Democrats nominate. He's just praying it isn't Hillary.
