Pre-band, I was the bread queen. I could happily live on a diet of hot French bread, Red Lobster biscuits, and fresh-from-the-oven yeast rolls. I haven't had a piece of bread in over two years. PS....It's "theirs".
-
I can't eat the biscuits anymore. :think

My question is.....what was she doing topless in Red Lobster? Serves her right.

I asked my DH (aka Mr. Better Homes and Gardens) and he agrees with Wheetsin - do not apply fertilizer or bug killers until the roots have had a chance to establish themselves. I don't think regular bug killer for lawns kills roaches anyway, does it? You need an exterminator for that. They will spray a barrier around your house so they don't come inside.

I'm the illegitimate love child of TOM and Peggy Hill.

I will pose the same question to you here that I used in response to the nasty PM you sent me....are you nuts? I have a BA in English - period. If you are better educated than me, that's great. But what does it have to do with anything? I did not mean that I thought you were an idiot. I meant (and said) that you would look like one if you posted to this thread again. And that was only because several people kept posting questions to you.

Actually, the only law they are breaking is the law against illegal border crossing. They generally keep a very low profile and studiously avoid breaking other laws. And you can cross into Mexico with very little risk of retribution. They would like for you to register as a foreign national, but they really don't care very much. Gringos retire to Mexico every day and bring lots of US dollars with them. I live in Texas, so there are plenty of illegal immigrants here. I'm sure the crew that laid my slate patio were mostly illegals. They do great work, by the way, at very reasonable prices. I had actually tried to hire an Anglo, but he decided it was a job best put off until Fall.

Me, too, Lisa. If my DH leaves the house and I'm not feeling 100%, he always calls to check on me. He can hardly STAND for me to be mad at him. It just about gives him an ulcer.....poor baby.
-
I agree, BJ....and I'd pee standing up, too if it didn't make such a mess.

He means a lady in the parlor and a slut in the bedroom. LOL

Take Alex. You'd have to fight Christina for Burke and I'll bet she's one tough little Chinese fortune cookie.

It's a deal. I don't like Addison anyway. I'll jab her with a dirty needle or something.

She can't come back to this thread....she'd look like an idiot.

Will McDreamy be there? Sign me up! I'm gonna throw Meredith back in the Water so I have a better chance with him.
-
You could PM her, if you're worried.

I don't think that's a secret. Nor does it bother many Liberals, myself included. A Conservative Democrat (or a Liberal Republican) might be the best thing to come along in....oh, about 8 years.

I read the book quite recently (Bill and Hillary, the Marriage). I think it's pretty accurate. I could not find anything, anywhere that would indicate the author had a political ax to grind. But if you read the WHOLE thing, you will see that he had many positive, flattering things to say about Hillary, as well. She disliked the manner in which the Arkansas State Troopers guarded her person....and she minced no words about it. She felt smothered. But they weren't exactly charm school grads, either. One told her (and I'm paraphrasing here), "As far as I'm concerned, you are the property of the State of Arkansas and I'm going to guard you MY way." I'm a good Catholic girl myself and I don't use the kind of language that has been attributed to Hillary. Never said the "F word" in my entire life, or the "CS word", etc. I had a mother who always had a bar of soap handy and an older brother who served as an excellent reminder of how unpleasant the consequences were. But I'm not going to cast my vote based on whether a candidate swears or not. Where, first of all, do you find one that doesn't? Richard Nixon, the Watergate tapes proved, had a mouth like a sewer. LBJ? Ditto. Also JFK. And I'll bet George uttered a few choice words when he opened up the paper and saw that his daughters were caught drinking in an Austin bar with fake IDs. Hillary Clinton is no Laura Bush. Even as First Lady, she was no Laura Bush. Now she's running with the big dogs, and you have to expect that she's going to act like them. Otherwise, they would eat her alive.

And if they can't, our grandchildren and THEIR grandchildren are screwed. Bush has mortgaged the future of America and sooner or later, we are going to find that we can't make the house payment!
-
Green... I'm not afraid of universal helath care, IF we can find a reasonable, responsible way to pay for it. Just saying the government is going to pick up the tab isn't enough. We have to have some provision in place that will fund it. Bush has put us in extreme financial jeopardy with his Medicare RX bill, and says he will veto attempts to reform it. We can't begin to think about nationalized health care until we get this mess "fixed", IMHO. And make some much-needed improvements in the health care program for veterans. Bush screwed those guys/girls royally. First he stopped open enrollment for benefits, then he sent a whole new generation off to war.

Liz... I sort of know how you feel. My mother-in-law lives with me and she is almost 87. She has no verbal inhibition anymore, either. In spite of knowing it's her age and not really her fault, she can still open her mouth and piss me off. I just can't help it sometimes. In the end, I'm the one that feels bad, though. Even worse, my DH (and his brother) can absolutely do NO wrong. If they were serial killers, my MIL would find a way to make it seem like a good thing! As for the donuts, don't drive yourself crazy over stuff you think you can't have. Eat the donut. Pretty soon, you won't be able to.
-
Tell her you know lots of people who "pretend" they're still 20 years old.....it doesn't work.
-
I did! And it was chilling! One of the things it hit home about was the Medicare RX bill, calling it the most ill-thought out, catastrophic piece of legislation in American history. It commits us to TRILLIONS of dollars that we don't have, and no way of raising except to increase taxes and cut benefits even more to the general population. Folks, when the old people who supposedly will benefit from this bill tell you that it's a bad idea, maybe you should listen. George Bush pushed this thru for the benefit of big business (drug companies and companies with defined pension plans who were allowed to pass their obligation for retirees' drug costs off to YOU - the taxpayers). If you aren't mad as hell over this, I don't know what it would take to shake your blind faith in the shrub.

Would it be taking your remark out of context to say that I agree? Or would that be the literal interpretation?
