March 14th Sleever check-in!
Lain01 replied to BigFatLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yesterday I started logging everything in my fitness pal. Keeps me accountable and has helped me get to 60g protein - finally. Felt much better. Lack of protein def makes me more tired. Now I just need to work on getting the scale to move. I'm down 14 but seeing it stuck for a couple days is buggin!!!!!!!! -
Any March Sleevers?

Hi birdie0518. Isopure is clear. I'm not really liking it but my taste has changed after surgery. The grape has been to most tolerable & it has 40g protein. My nut also gave me a website bariatricadvantage.com. I haven't tried anything but there is a chicken broth that gas 27g protein. I didn't have a drain so i cant comment on that. Good luck. -

I was sleeved March 14th and am having same problem. Premier Protein from Costco is the only one I've somewhat tolerated. -
Better or worse than expected?
Lain01 replied to Sooner girl36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a hysterectomy April 2012. It was hard going off hormones, I had to stop 2 weeks prior to surgery. I'm still not on them, my surgery was 3-14. I have had a harder time with this surgery. The biggest difference is my energy level. I too was out and about really fast after my hysterectomy. It's been hard to get in the required liquids so it has affected my energy. But please don't take this in a bad way. The first two days were horrible (dry heaves, gas pain) but each day gets better. I'm 5 days post-op and I'm down 13 lbs. From what I've read, as time goes on it just gets better. My best recommendation is get the gas X strips. Found mine at WalMart. They were a lifesaver!!! Good luck to you. -
15 pounds down in 5 days.

Birdie I was a low BMI too and didn't have a pre-op diet. I had two days of liquids only and the lovely colon cleanse. You will be fine. My surgery was the 14th. Every day is a little better. I'm still having a hard time getting in my liquids. But I'm down 13 pounds so I can't complain. Good luck to you. -

Mixed feelings. I'm down 13 pounds since surgery on the 14th. I'm just worried about liquid intake. I sip but I get dry heaves. Nothing sounds good and I seem to have a heightened sense of smell. Everything I smell is disgusting. Anyone else experiencing this? -

Got sleeved yesterday. I've been home for a couple hours. Don't have gas pains but I get dry heaves every time I try to drink. Did anyone experience this? Now that I'm off IV I'm worried about dehydration. -

On way to hospital. So nervous!! Thanks for all the prayers. -
Thought I'd start a thread so us 14th-ers can bond and share our experience. I'm completely worn out. Finished two magnesium citrates plus the fleet enema. Disgusting. Tired but nervous, hopefully I can get some sleep. Good luck to you all. I hope everyone has a safe surgery, I look forward to hearing about everyone's journey.

Anybody with CIGNA insurance?
Lain01 replied to BlueBonnet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Cigna and was denied because my BMI is under 40 and I didn't have at least 2 other factors (diabetes, sleep apnea etc). Decided to self pay. I have 90 pounds to lose to be at a healthy weight. In my opinion the BMI scale isn't an accurate depiction. My surgery is March 14th. Cannot wait. I think it will be money well spent. -

My surgery is scheduled for March 14th. I'm nervous and I think because I haven't met Dr Feiz personally it's adding to my nervousness. I go on the 6th for my endoscopy so hopefully I will meet him then. Any feedback on experience with Dr Feiz would be appreciated.

4 days out - emotional roller-coaster
Lain01 replied to skinnyginny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You definitely are not alone. My surgery is March 14th. I'm also a self pay and my husband is the only person I've told. I think about what we could do with the money I'm spending on the surgery but I can't continue to beat myself up and neither should you. Focus your thoughts on how much better you will look and feel in the coming months. You will be a healthier you and that is priceless!! Good luck on your journey and please keep in touch. -
