This is a great question! I joined a gym yesterday and decided to contact my surgeon's office to find out when it would be ok. They told me to wait 6-8 weeks before doing anything other than cardio. Light cardio would be ok after 2 weeks post op. They said when I do start working with weights to ease into it and to try not to do any contorted moves right away (yoga). If you do notice any pain at your incision sites to wait another week before exercising. I am five weeks post op and I will be starting with aqua aerobics and then at my eight week mark I will introduce weight machines. Every doctor is different on when they will tell you it is ok to start working out. I want to error on the side of caution where my incisions are concerned. Good luck to you!

I have to eat a little before taking the vitamins or I will get nauseous.

I felt like I was really hungry up until I started eating pureed foods. The liquids and full liquids do not stay with you long enough. I also started taking prilosec and it has helped too.

I felt hungry quite a bit during the clear and full liquid stage but I have just moved into puree's and there is a major difference. I feel full (really full) with only 2oz and I stay full much longer. -
1 week post op-pain with every bite...
txcynblues replied to raggmopp68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just starting on pureed and I tried scrambled eggs with some refried beans and guacamole this morning.... I could only take a few very small bites and it feels like a lump in my stomach. I will be finishing the day with more liquids. It sure did taste good though -

Self Pay - time frame start to finish
txcynblues replied to Stacy Mendoza's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am self pay. Surgery date is 3/25... from start to surgery date will be about 6 weeks. I was able to meet with my surgeon and complete all the pre-op testing he required (ekg, full metabolic panel, blood count, psych eval in a little over a week. Then I just had to schedule a visit with my surgeon again and get scheduled. Good luck!
