Buy gasx strips, they help a lot. -
Having a hard time drinking water, any help
Texasgeo replied to Texasgeo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was the opposite, I could only do very small sips for the first week. I accidently did a big gulp and i thought i was going to die. The second week is much better. Still not getting all of my protein in, I just don’t like the sweet stuff. But i bought some non-flavored Protein powder at GNC and it is much easier to tolerate. I was off all pain meds by the 4th day. And the drinking gets much easier every day, its just a time thing. Hang in there. -
GasX and lots of walking did the trick for me.

Thanks I hope its better tomorrow. -
Well it's Sunday morning, I am 5 days into my liquid diet and three days away from my surgery. Its been pretty hard. But this morning is really hard. My wife just made pancakes and bacon for her and the kids and the smell is almost too much to take. I think I’m going to go to work and finish up a few things just to get away from the smell........

So it tastes like turkey bacon, lol.

Well I stayed at work all day and got away from the smell. Plus with my surgery in two days I needed to get something’s done anyway. Guess there will be many more of these days ahead, guess I will be getting lots of work done lol. I really can’t be mad at her, I am the one who put myself in this position.

Would you have paid without insurance coverage?
Texasgeo replied to Houston17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might want to talk with Dr Stowers (http://www.mybariatricsolutions.com/). He is doing my surgery and I know a few people that have used him in the past. The cash price is $10,900 this includes 2-3 nights stay at the hospital plus check ups for a year. The only other out of pocket cost for cash payers is for your blood work for the 3 month checkups. Which they will take your blood in the office for free and all you have to pay is $300 to the lab. So $10,900 + $900 = $11,800. -

I am paying about $11,000 cash for mine. In Texas. And the way I look at this way, if it gives me 10 more years with my kids it is worth every cent. -
Cool. I'll keep in touch and let you know how mine goes.

Yeah it’s kind of sad, but when I was in high school I was about the only fat kid(was great for football). But now it seems like 50% of the people in Texas are overweight.

Amarillo By Morning, my favorite George Strait song...... I hate to admit it but the last time I was in Amarillo, I ate the BIG STEAK.....

Thanks for all the welcomes and well wishes.

I live near Rhome, about 30 minutes north of Fort Worth. I grew up in south west Fort Worth, so i know Burleson all to well, lol. I am using Dr Stowers. I talked with the people at Dr Kims office, but I live about 15 minutes from Dr Stowers and over an hour from Dr Kim. It came down to driving time, and Dr Stowers was about $2,500 less(cash price) than Dr Kim. Plus I get a free 6 months at the hospitals fitness center and with it only being 15 minutes from home I will be able to take advantage of it.
