  1. OMG! Every since I can remember I've always "ritualized" the way I eat! And it's always been save the best for last! For every type of food, there is a certain way I eat it . . . even in the order that I eat it. If I eat homemade mashed potatoes, there has to be a last bit of them no matter what else is on the plate. Your idea is great! Because I won't know when I'll get full, I have to learn to eat the most scrumptious bite FIRST! Otherwise, I'll miss it, and I don't want to force it once I'm full, because then that last bite won't be the best . . . it will be filled with guilt (for forcing) and maybe some pain or nausea (for forcing) and it will turn into the worst bite for last! Thank you for this idea!

    so unhappy. ..

Gettinmeback: You look fantastic! You look like you were never overweight! WebChickabee gave an excellent response. You are on a LIFE-long journey and there will be twists and turns and as my therapist told me, there is NO ONE in control except me . . . you in your case! People in your ear will tell you don't lose any more you'll look sick. Those same people will tell you be careful you'll get fat again if they see you eat a single potato chip! Your body belongs to you and you have to do what is right for you! This is a personal question, and you certainly are free to answer or not, but you look so good, did you have surgery to remove excess skin, or did you have a lot! Keep your head up, do what is right for you, control what you eat or don't eat and if you need "outside" help, it's best to see someone who is objective like a counselor or therapist to help you gain insight on why you were overweight in the first place, if it wasn't purely a medical reason. All the best to you! Peace, Carlygirl412

What if i dont lose my 10%!

I understand your frustration! I went through the entire six-month program and my surgeon submitted to Kaiser and Kaiser denied the surgery contingent upon me losing 2% of my body weight; which is 12 pounds. I'm exercising three times a week and logging my food into My Fitness Pal every day (for 60 days straight so far). I've lost 8 pounds! That includes not losing at all, losing .02 for two weeks in a row, losing 4.4 last week, and regaining 3.4 this week! It's very frustrating, but when I do the math, it equals out to about one pound a week, and if I keep going like that I'll lose the 12 pounds plus I want to lose a few more for good measure to take care of any discrepancies between my scale and the doctor's office scale. I figure at this rate, I'll be done in about 10 more weeks. Kaiser gave me 6 months to lose it. Once I lose the weight, my surgeon will re-submit my papers and I pray Kaiser will approve the surgery. I'm getting the gastric sleeve. All the best to you.

    Who Are You?

Hello: I am waiting to lose a few more pounds before my surgeon can re-submit my paperwork to Kaiser. Kaiser wanted me to lose 12 pounds before approving my surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Timothy Shope with the Washington Hospital Center. I am retired from the federal government and I am a local in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. I am married with two adult children (1 boy and 1 girl) and grandmother to a lovely teenage girl. I have struggled all my life with weight. When I graduated high school, I weiged 220 pounds and my highest weight has been 271 and my lowest, from old-school Weight Watchers back in the 80's, was 150. I hope to have the gastric sleeve and get back to the 150 or 160 mark. I want to be rid of diabetes, any cholesterol issues, and hypertension . . . and I want to look cute! I think I can get more acting gigs if I am slimmer and acting is my work; and I'd love to have much more work than I get now. Thanks.
