Does everyone get the same size stomach after the sleeve surgery?
alene replied to momofjal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my surgeon what size bougie size he uses. He says a snug 40. I trust him, so I'm hoping all goes well. -
I think that most people who find out and have such negative comments, know absolutely nothing about the vertical gastric sleeve procedure. They are ignorant and have not done the research like we have. They have no clue what they are talking about. Ignore them. :-)

Wondering if 9 months is enough time to heal between band and sleeve
alene posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Last October I was supposed to have a revision done at the same time . my band really messed up my stomach and my doctor took one look at my stomach and closed me up without doing the sleeve. He said my stomach tissue was too damaged from the band and the stitches or staples would not hold and I would be sure to get a leak. well here it is almost 9 months later I am planning to have the sleeve in July I'm wondering if anyone knows is that sufficient time for healing? is there anyway he can find out before he gets in there? -
I'm getting really nervous now. Like I'm in line for a scary roller coaster ride. But this time I can't just close my eyes tight and wish it to be over quickly. I have to walk right through with my eyes open and try to be a brave person. I had such a horrible time with the band and here I go again. But I know it's the right thing to do.

Hi does anybody have any recommendations for a scale that is very accurate I've never have a scale before and now I'm thinking it's time to get one because I have 2 weeks until my surgery. I don't need one with all the bells and whistles just one that's easy to read because my eyesight is not that good thank you.

Thanks everyone. I'll check out some scales this weekend :-)

I have one of those friends that has really nice clothes. she wears them once or twice and then gives them to the good will. she's smaller than me and I asked her when she was cleaning out a closet last time to give me her clothes and they are all adorable and most have tags on them but they're all like a size 9. ( I'm a size 20/22) so I hung them up and I can't stop looking and dreaming of the day I will be able to fit into these adorable clothes, it's a great inspiration for me!! My surgery is in 3 weeks :-)

clothes that don't fit. .yet
alene replied to alene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just so excited because I despise clothes shopping. I only have about 3 stretchy pants that I can actually fit into other than a few scrubs. And that goes for shirts too I really don't have much of a collection of clothes that I can wear right now. Hurry up sleeve lol!! -

Good Luck everyone!!♥ -
Hi all, I was wondering something. My surgeon says he only wants me to have protein supplements (drinks, powders, shakes ect..) that have whey protein ISOLATE in the ingredients. But I've noticed that a lot of them just say whey protein. Is there a big difference between the two? Thanks for any replys. My surg date is in july.

Yes, I ordered some unjury chicken soup. I hear that's a good one.
