Hi, I am meeting my surgeon this week. I'm ready for this but I am so anxious about not being able to drink diet coke. Isn't that crazy? I drink it all day everyday. I know it is terrible for me yet I still do it. Just as I keep making bad food choices. I'm scared that I will go through some sort of withdraw from it. If anyone else has this problem and overcame it please share with me!

Ok so I am 4 months out. It seems my restriction has disappeared. I am not feeling full at all. For example I ate a mexican salad it was lettuce with tomato and black beans. I ate about a cup. I also ate a small clementine orange. I am not feeling full. I didnt drink either. I am so worried. Is this normal?

Yeah I am going to have to be more careful and eat more dense protein. I added up everything I ate today and it was 645 calories. I guess I was just over thinking. I got so used to that instant full feeling. Now I have to be more disciplined. Thanks for your thoughts -

Up until this week I would have a very full feeling after eating very little. I would know that I was satisfied and could not take another bite. Now I finish my meal and do not have a problem. I could eat more however I do not do it. -

Anyone have their heart on the wrong side? Literally !?
ChristenOnAmission replied to odetteNYC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son has that. His cardiologist says our hearts our on the right side in utero and the turn over to the left side as we grow. My sons did not turn all the way so his is in the center. He is healthy and gets an EKG every few years just to check. -
Surgery for appearance alone?
ChristenOnAmission replied to Linkin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can say that I am doing this mostly for vanity. Yea, I have high BP and my body aches from carrying the weight but I can live with that. I cannot live another year of my life being depressed and hating my body. I cannot go another year thinking my husband should not be with me. He is beautiful and so was I when he met me. I feel like I have let him down even though he has never once commented on my weight and loves me so much. I do not want to be the "fat mom" my kids will be picked on for. I have a three year old daughter. I want to be an example for her. I want to look like the person I feel like inside. I want to enjoy clothes, swimming pools, beaches, and roller coasters. These are my motivations. This surgery will heal wounds people do not see. So call me vain. I will wear that name proudly. -
I got approved :-)

clear liquid diet
ChristenOnAmission replied to srh3136's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try some Isopure. You can get it from GNC but it is much cheaper on Amazon. It is a clear protein drink. Make sure it is very cold that helps with the after taste. -

BCBCTX and Dr. Chung in Lake Charles, La
ChristenOnAmission replied to ChristenOnAmission's topic in Insurance & Financing
My BCBS TX covers 100% after the $1500 co pay. I just called customer service. They told me everything I needed to know and how to find the info on their website. -
I know I am depressed. I know I am depressed because of my weight. That only makes me eat more because I am an emotional eater. Should I get on meds now or wait until after surgery. I've had depression as long as I can remember in spurts. I am ok for a while and then I am in a funk like I am now. I just feel hopeless and tired all the time. I have no interest in anything really. I can barely get up for work. Even spending time with my husband and kids is a task.

Depression
ChristenOnAmission replied to ChristenOnAmission's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know once I have the surgery I will feel better. It will give me a sense of relief. I also have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I hate those broad diagnosis but I am in constant pain. I think the combination of it all just gets me in a bad mood. I'm going to wait until after surgery. I'm not going to have to wait months for my surgery. That will only make it worse not better. Thanks for the info. I will just cope until then. I'm not suicidal or anything, just feel blah so nobody freak out. -
Depression
ChristenOnAmission replied to ChristenOnAmission's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I could be totally over it next week. It is weird for me. I am super stressed right now. I just want to feel better. I was worried being on depression meds would hurt my chances for insurance coverage though. -
Sleeve and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
ChristenOnAmission replied to ChristenOnAmission's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine is horrible. I get up for work exhausted. My lunch time the pain .and fatigue are full on. When I get off of work I have to take pain meds Then struggle to stay awake for an hour to spend time with my family. I go to bed at 7:00 or 8:00. Most weekends I don't leave the house because I am so tired. I am praying this surgery will help! -
