Well 18 on my 12 day pre op diet so 40 all together. I am tired still sore and praying this gets easier. Having a few regrets still. Can't eat more than an a few bites at a time. I eat often though. I have been out of work for 3 weeks and out for at least 3 more. I hope I can eat like a half a sandwich some day. I miss food. -

I have a confession I ate a piece of cheese pizza tonight! It was so good. It was really like a half slice but it went down ok. I gave the crust to the dog because I knew I never be able to handle that. It gives me a little hope that someday I will be able to eat something good again. Was I bein bad?? I am feeling so guilty...

Hi everyone! So good to see CT sleevers on here! I just got sleeved 2 weeks ago in Meriden with Dr. Verdura. I was 346 pre op, now down to 310. I am having a few regrets, which is probably a normal way to feel this soon after surgery, but praying that it will be all worth it in the end. Really mourning the fact that I can't eat much anymore. Did anyone else feel this way? I live in the Waterbury area anyone else close by?? Would love to meet up.

I am having trouble sleeping too! Mind racing all night... I never read that this was a side effect! Where did u all hear that? How long does it last? Never had a problem sleeping in my life. Over a week out and on puréed foods but dreaming o other things to eat. Hope my head hunger goes away and I can manage it!

Just got home from the hospital this afternoon. Feelin pretty good but really sore. Pain is manageable. Water feels weird going down. Like bubbly feeling which I think is gas... Full liquids go down easier. The day of the surgery and the day after was horrible. I was so over medicated and nauseated I was vomiting. One time I vomited so hard that I broke a blood vessel in my head, actually felt it pop, and then blood came pouring out my nose. That was scary! But that night I turned a corner and I feel like I am doing well today.

I am getting excited but also really scared for my surgery 1 week from today... I have been on a Liquid/ small meal diet since last week and have already lost 8 lbs! Starving but on Thursday I start my protien sparing diet. That's when I will really be hungry! But I can do it! Dreaming of all the things I will be able I do this summer!

You'll do great! I am doing a protien sparing diet now. Started today 3oz of lean meat 3x a day and all the sf Jello and ice pops I want. Hungry, but its mostly head hunger I think. I wish that would go away. I hope it does... That's what I am really worried about after the surgery. Where are u being sleeved? -
MARCH 12 for me too! I am in Connecticut but I haven't got my surgery time yet. Start the protien sparing diet tomorrow which is only for 5 days but its going to be hard. 3 oz of protein 3x a day, 2 quarts of water and all he sf jello or pops I can eat. I lost 10lbs already this past week on my liquid/ light meal diet. Summer here I come!!

Kind of envying some people who don't have to do a liquid pre-op
scrappooba replied to Msa662's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I start pre-op tomorrow. I am going to use the premiere protein shakes from Costco for breakfast and lunch and then a light meal for dinner. That is for 7 days and then 5 days before 3oz of protein 3x a day and all the diet jello, Popsicles you want, broth and water requirements. If I can get through that I know the after will be fine. I am just worried about the head hunger after surgery. Will it really be less? Praying it is! -
