Have you started your Motivation Jars?
ElyQuint replied to ShellBell25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

HELP, I CANT DRINK ONE MORE PROTIEN SHAKE
ElyQuint replied to spbytina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I recently realized that all the fake sugars in the drinks were wreaking havoc. I stopped the new whey protien shots and just sent the boyfriend to get some decaf instant coffee grinds to cut the sweetness in my shakes. It was suggested by another member. Someone else said powdered peanut butter. -
-
You are my hero! I never even thought to do that. The bitterness would certainly reduce that sweetness!

Hi all: sleeved on 7.29.13 and still on liquids. I was feeling really horrible and having a hell of a time getting my liquida and protein in. Finally it hit me how much artificial sweetener i was consuming!i made the switch from vitaman water zero to unsweetened iced tea and feel like a whole new person. I also cannot stand all of the sweetness any longer. Anybody else?
-
I usually avoid the artificials but i gave in in favor of the protein and nutrients.

9 days out. I put the heating pad under me cuz im paranoid about my incisions. It still happens especially if i sip to big. But it is less and less.
-
My doc said whenever i want so im thinking six or so months. Lol
-
I do. Especially at night. The strips work in conjunction with a heating pad but nothing seems to eliminate it completely yet.

If I was a horse, they'd shoot me
ElyQuint replied to AmyInOrlando's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on july 29 and also had the hernia repair but no sweats or foam. I think you should see a dr. Or call your surgeon. I used gasx tongue dissolving strips for the gas pain. Also, im not getting enough fluids cuz it hurts and its tedious so i made vitamin water popsicles and that is making a difference. Recovery is hard. -
Ugh. I have had the hiccups on and off since adding shakes into my diet. Hurts like an m-effer. Not sure why i get them or how to stop them but my doc says its fine.

Getting back to work
ElyQuint replied to Brighteyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took one week but my doc just made me take another. Im still very fatigued and dehydrated. I started vitamins today which should help and I intend to work hard to get hydrated. I wish I had taken two initially so that my unrealistic expectations were not transferred to my boss. -
I def do not regret having had the surgery. It is very hard right now but not as hard as chemo, dialysis or immobility, all of which are on the alternative list. This lifestyle change was not his choice. Its being forced upon him and he will make his own decision in the end. Probably from the bottom of the sleigh riding hill when im at the top. I love him and hope he makes the climb.

I was sleeved 7.29.13 and facing two more weeks of shakes i can hardly get down. Im exhausted! Energy depleted (20 oz of liquids is like a chore) hungrier than i have ever been and my chef boyfreind is filling my home with the most aromatically appealing smells know to humans. When i pointed out how cruel this was i was informed that i make bad decisions. Im going to die.
-
Lmao. Better wait till the pie is gone first.
-
You guys are cracking me up. This might be passive aggressive cooking. There is a pie on the counter and a pizza guy at the door. Smh. BUT he also made some special soups for the day i can consume purees (2 weeks i hope). He will have to get onboard or find someone else to push his wheelchair to his inevitable chemotherapy appointments!! Pizza indeed!
-
Thank you for the support. I cant wait until i can lift my leg high enough to kick him. I know food is in my future. I just look very forward to that future because i am so hungry and so tired. I go back to work tomorrow so perhaps that will help. Im not sure how people work on less than 300 calories a day but im going to find out.

I was sleeved on the 29th as well. My surgeon does not allow anything but water, tea and low cal beverages until tomorrow (the 3rd) so I feel very depleted at the moment. Coming home from the hospitali felt very energetic and expected daily improvement so im in a minor state of shock. Looking forward to some protein and nutrients tomorrow. Hows everyone else doing?
