Seat belt extenders on plane

I'm an airline employee. I can tell you asking for an extension is not an issue. I was my heaviest back in September 2012 when my whole family took a Hawaii vacation. On every leg of the flight I needed an extension. I simply asked the flight attendant as she made her rounds. (Sometimes they approached me. Lets face it.. I wasn't fooling anyone into thinking I was skinny!) They will not think any thing about it. And taking your own extension is not an option. While you can buy them on many websites, if the flight attendant sees you use it, she will just bring you one of the airline's and ask you to use it instead. I was sleeved on 2/27 and I'm down 70 lbs since that trip to Hawaii. I won't be asking for an extension the next time I fly. -

Protein Shake/Bars: What's your favorite?
BCPDX replied to Roserie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a case each of chocolate and vanilla Premier Protein from costco because it was easy. I did a liquid diet two weeks prior to surgery which included those shakes and I'm now two weeks past surgery. To make a long story short, they both make me gag to think about them now. All of the chocolate is gone over the past 4 weeks but the vanilla is still there and I might use them for target practice. I wish I found unjury protein prior to purchasing Premier Protien. In my opinion, their Chocolate Splendor mixed with 2% milk is 100x better then Premier. They also have an unflavored version that you can mix in Soups or other things. -
That's awesome. Sounds like so many stories I've heard from my wife. I kinda wish I could be more of a part of it. But I know it's better if I'm there only after hours.

I did not need a catheter. I was seriously dreading the idea. But the Dr wants you up and walking as soon as possible. So.. If you could get up and go, you wouldn't get one. Believe me.. I made sure I could get up and go. I think the biggest deciding factor is how you handle the anesthesia or wake up from it.

I would like to share some info about Curves. I am a guy but my wife and I own a Curves franchise. First, let me clarify that this isn't a sales pitch and working out is the most important thing no matter where you go. I just wanted to clear up some misconceptions. It is true Curves is designed for women. We have women of all shapes, ages and sized use our equipment. Proper form is key to not hurting yourself. The resistance on the machines is created with hydraulic cylinders. That means there is no adjusting weight plates which there wouldn't be time for since you rotate stations every 30 seconds. Also, the hydraulic cylinders provide more resistance the harder you work them and they provide resistance in both directions. For example, when you work your biceps in one direction, you will work your triceps in the other direction. The faster and harder you push yourselves, the more calories you will burn and the more lean muscle you will gain. Consequently, the faster your metabolism will be. It is true you work out in a circle and you face each other. And to look at it like you have to stare at strangers is not the idea. You will make friends and you will have some great conversations with the other ladies working out with you. You will find working out with other ladies who you have things in common with, makes it more fun. It's your time. Time away from husbands, kids, house work, jobs... You name it. And just FYI, Curves is now so much more then a fitness center. It is now a complete weightloss center with Curves Complete. I won't go into details because I promised this isn't a sales pitch. But if you want to know more, visit a Curves near you or curves.com (still not a sales pitch). As for me, I don't go into our club during business hours unless something breaks. We keep it women's only out of respect for our members. I handle accounting and maintenance. My wife is there everyday at 530am. And I'm on this forum because I was sleeved one week ago on 2/27. Here's to working out no matter where you choose to do it. Stay strong. Stay healthy.

I've been reading this thread for a few days now. I love how supportive everyone is! Support is so important when making a life changing decision like Bariatric Surgery. I was sleeved on 2/27 and have had a fairly "text book" recovery. I'm happy to read that most people, while facing various challenges, are making it thru ok. Congrats to everyone and hang in there! We got this!
