I had this insurance last year and wished I had taken advantage of it when I had the chance! I have 3 friends who had surgery, one paid a total of $500 and the other 2 paid nothing at all. I'm not sure what the difference was in their policies though. I do know they had to do 6 months of physician supervised weight loss and meet specific BMIs (40 without co-morbidities I believe)

I'm hoping to get April 20th as well with Dr. Perez! Or verboonen, Haven't made the final decision yet Can I ask who you booked through? I was dealing with Ronda from alighterme, but she is trying her darnedest to deter me from Cancun. I started talking to Sheri from International Patient Facilitators.
  4. Which Dr did you have in Cancun? I'm torn between two at the moment. Dr. Perez and Dr. Verboonen.
  5. HI all! So happy to have found this forum! My BMI is around 34 (depending on the scale). I am in the process of scheduling surgery, just waiting for the call back. Hopefully it will be Mid-April! My goal is to lose at least 70 pounds. Even though I work for a hospital that has one of the leading bariatric facilities in the country, our insurance refuses to pay for any WLS regardless of BMI or co-morbidities. I was diagnosed with PTC in September and all the only advice the docs can give is lose weight. Yeah, cuz I hadn't thought of that before... Anyone had surgery in Cancun?
