My poor experience with A Lighter Me
marlygirly replied to dawndenise's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Lopez, Dr. Ortiz, Abraham, and Eduardo! Dr. Ortiz came to my room, took care of my drain, told me how to take care if it. He was VERY professional. And everyone I encountered was so professional and treated me like I was a princess! I will NEVER regret going to Mexico or going through A Lighter Me. One persons experience doesn't put in stone how a Dr is or a coordinator. Anytime I needed one of them they were right there. I was very well taken care of. -

I went to Dr. Lopez and also went through A Lighter Me and I can't recommend them ENOUGH!! My experience was great, and I was very well taken care of from my driver Abraham to the Dr, nurses and Eduardo! I was treated very very well and I don't have any regrets!! -
OMG!! That's me totally! I am almost 4 weeks out and I worry all the time. I worry that I eat too much, I worry that it's not working, I worry about not losing. It's in my head ALL the time.

Take Gas X strips (those helped me a lot) and a hot pad. I didn't have a hot pad but boy did I want it. Also, a small washcloth (they only had towels at the hospital).

I woke up in recovery and then was moved to my room. It really was a nice experience with everyone. I was very happy!

I also had Dr Lopez and Dr Ortiz. Both were very good doctors and very professional. I meet both the day of surgery and they explained exactly what would happen. I felt like my care with them and Mi Hospital was better than I can ever have in the States. Please don't worry! You will be in very good hands.

Don't worry! He is great! And Dr. Ortiz assisted my surgery and he is also very good! You will be very well taken care of, I promise.

Your lucky, I have Cigna also, and Cigna would not cover a dime of a Gastric Sleeve Surgery. I went to Mexico and had it done there.

Dr. Lopez is a very professional, good doctor. You will be in great hands. I was sleeved on the 4th of March with him.

What do you take for acid reduction
marlygirly replied to kpaige77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have also been waking up gagging on acid. It doesn't matter what or when I eat. It is really gross and leaves my throat hurting in a way. -
Dr. Ortiz is the BEST!!! He was SO professional, kind, gentle and VERY easy on the Eyes!! I would definitely recommend him!!!

marlygirly replied to kpaige77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why is the acid so bad? It is happening to me a lot. I am taking Prevacid, and I don't think it's working if I am still having problems. -
Dr. Ortiz (Or, Dr. Jesús Elías Ortiz Gómez)?
marlygirly replied to icon23's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had Dr. Ortiz as the assistant surgeon to Dr. Lopez. Dr. Ortiz was Awesome!! He came into my room pre-surgery talked to me, told me what was going to happen. Very, very nice man. He also checked on me after surgery. He was very professional and very kind. When I was at the Hotel he came and removed my drain. Explained everything he was doing, explained how things would be for me in the next few months, what to eat, how much weight I should use. I would recommend him 100%! -
Questioning myself on everything! Please Help!
marlygirly posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone! I am two weeks post-op and am just starting my next phase of blended food. Everything I have eaten I have done fine with, so far. But the problems I am having is I am desperately afraid of gaining weight back or not being successful with my new gastric sleeve. I am afraid I am eating too much, I am afraid I am going to fall back into unhealthy habits. Ugh! It's driving me crazy what I am doing to myself!! So have any of you experienced this or think this way? Please help I am in need of some encouragement!! -

I know it's in my head but its SO hard to change that internal dialogue to myself. Yes, I log my food also. I can see I am not eating all that much but it just doesn't help all those bad thoughts. Good luck to you also! How many calories are you consuming daily? -
I am only 9 days post-op but I have one incision that keeps bleeding off and on. Plus it is really bruised around it. I have been keeping it open for air to heal, until it started bleeding. Is this normal? It is not the drain incision either. It am incision under my right breast, on my upper stomach. Thanks for any info!!
-
Thank you everyone for the info. Makes me feel better that I have all you guys to ask questions.
-
No but I was going to if I didn't get any help here. Thanks for your info. I figured some had to be normal but I wanted to make sure. Thanks

Take Biotin, it is for healthy hair and nails. You find it in the vitamin section just about anywhere. It has helped me.

I felt great to do some light shopping and I was only 3 days post-op. It was actually good to go and be able to walk around a bit.
