moonlitestarbrite replied to XForeverYoursX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I can't get in my needed protein.
moonlitestarbrite replied to almostatlantic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
keep drinking! all the protein you get right now should be liquid at body temp anyway. -
many doctors, esp surgeons score high on measures of sociopathic traits.

Husband says No to me having surgery!
moonlitestarbrite replied to Mich4351's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i think its his responsibility to convince you that its in your best interest to not have the surgery versus you needing to convince him that you should. its your body, your health, your choice. so i would turn it around and tell him that this is your choice and if he thinks its not a healthy choice, he should research proof that remaining obese is less risk than having this surgery. if he can do that, you will reconsider. until that time, your mind is unchanged. -
Almost 2 months out
moonlitestarbrite replied to bigb2k01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
nausea in the morning usually means your blood sugar is low. talk to your doc about getting a BG monitor. i was still very sensitive at 2 months PO. my swelling didnt really subside until 5 months. i still have to be careful, i can make myself sick very easily. -
"Lump" feeling around diaphragm then throw up
moonlitestarbrite replied to CdnGirlinNC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it means there is too much in your stomach. eat slower. take smaller bites. give your stomach more time to empty. you are only 15 days PO, you still have lots of healing to do. -
i am a former chemical dependency counselor. several years after i worked with some counselors, i was RECEIVING counseling in a therapy group for sexual abuse survivors. i saw that 2 of the male counselors i worked with were moonlighting in this clinic. i kinda freaked... i didnt feel safe because i knew how much they complained/gossiped/talked about about clients. when i expressed concern about my privacy and confidentiality, i was booted from treatment. nice huh? women (and other "othered" groups) can be seriously treated like crap in health care. now i would make a complaint to their supervising agency. back then i was too young and too shocked to do anything. you should complain. they wont stop until someone corrects them, which the supervisors cant do if they dont know whats going on.

If you just did Post Op diet without surgery would you still have lost the weight?
moonlitestarbrite replied to Elizabeth21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
who the hell can eat 600 calories a day by choice? -
find another doctor.

its not nearly as common as it is with overweight people though. dont try to fool yourself... there is no such thing as healthy and fat long term.

i just want to chime in that i think this is a bigger issue than just mean doctors. many obese people are very sensitive in general to other people's opinions, comments, criticism. we internalize these things, feel bad/angry/upset/bothered about them and then eat over them. many of us have spent years eating our feelings. but the deal is, you cant just stop feeling the urge to do this without figuring out how to stop being such a sponge for other people's crap. we all need to have better emotional boundaries so we do not continue the pattern of taking in and personalizing other people's stuff. like a dog, kick some grass over that shit and move on. that doctor's issues arent yours, dont take them in and make them yours... let it go and move on! dont give yourself reasons to emotionally eat.

please mind your business
moonlitestarbrite replied to mz.newlife54's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
anyone who has been told not to have a medical procedure or been told horror stories by the person drawing their blood, should immediately report this person to the hospital they work for or the director of the lab. a person who draws your blood (or do any other test on you) is way out of bounds commenting on your medical status in any way. its unprofessional, unethical and just plain wrong. and this person's supervisor should know what she is doing do it can be corrected. -
they are also carbonated. or is that just slurpies?

moonlitestarbrite replied to Myonlybattle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
dont get me wrong... its so important to be mindful, think ahead and plan ahead. knowing what you ate going to eat ahead of time is essential to being successful with any eating plan. i coach people on special allergy diets and its #1 on my list of things people need to do. absolutely think ahead about what you are going to eat! but its a waste of mental and emotional energy to give a single **** about what you *think* others might be thinking about what you eat. live in your own head. pay attention to your own wants and needs. take care of yourself. what others think of you is none of your business anyway. -

moonlitestarbrite replied to Myonlybattle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i seriously think you should stop stop wasting so much time and mental energy on what others might think or notice. really, no one cares!! you are the only one obsessed with what you eat. for real. even if someone notices, so what? shrug and ask them how their meal is. the more you lie the harder it will be to maintain the lie. the best way to not talk about it is to not talk about it. dont create stories, just dont engage others about it. let it go. dont assume others really care that much about what you are eating. they dont, they are too busy thinking about themselves. -
