    The Bariatric Foodie

actually, i was challenging the idea that a "foodie" would use canned cream of anything! i like to get to know people better before i actually judge them. ????
  8. just wondering, how scared are you about the risk dying from being obese?

    The Bariatric Foodie

i think there are plenty of better options, but everyone makes their own choices about what they put in their bodies.

Does anyone have anxiety in general

Does anyone have anxiety in general

anxiety can be worse after surgery if you have no other self soothing skills than eating. suddenly, you are required to cope without your biggest coping skill. some of us dont realize the depth to which we self medicated with food until after we cant. learning new ways to cope with anxiety and self soothe without food before surgery is an awesome idea. that way you have time to practice before hand.

I'm eating when I'm not supposed to!

are you getting 60-70 grams of Protein in those shakes and getting an additional 64 ounces of Water? if you are getting all that protein and water in, you should not be physically hungry. your cravings are a mental state and you need to get it together and deal with them. only you cam get your own head together. no one can do that for you. though we can encourage you. if you are not getting in all your protein and water, then do so. that is the key to not being hungry. either way, only you can do this, and you can!

    Chefs? Avid home cooks?

if you are lucky and work at it, this surgery can give you a reset to allow you the space to develop a healthier relationship with food. one where it has an appropriate place in your life. but its not something that happens automatically. there are plenty of people who have this surgery who never address their food issues...

    Surgery Cancelled

super low fat diet and daily doses of milk thistle. no alcohol, minimize any drugs as much as possible. eat as clean as you can to rest the liver from having to detox you. good luck!

Does excercise help with excess skin?

i have never seen this show. but i do know that nothing, not a single thing you see on TV is real. no matter what it is, its edited and spun to have a certain affect on the viewers. so i would disregard it. your life is your reality. TV shows are fantasy.

    Emotional

totally normal. start researching ways to soothe yourself without food. you just lost your biggest coping mechanism.

    Peanut butter during pureed stage?

i was told no nuts or nut butter for 3 months. but my food plan is not specific to the sleeve. it was developed for bypass patients. so, it tends to be on the conservative side. *shrug*

Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?

this is one of the pitfalls of going to a forum for support. no one here really knows what you need or what your true headspace is. no one here knows if you "broke" your sleeve or not. people respond how they respond. its not always what we need. but this happens irl too. and when we talk with close friends, or the doctor's office. under the best of circumstances, communication is is imperfect and difficult. online its even harder. dont waste your time being upset with what other people dont give you. go out and find it yourself or tell people exactly what you need and see if someone can give it to you. but no one on a forum can even guess. its too hard online.

i drank milk, coconut water (plain), tea of all kinds, bone broth, and juiced veggies like cucumber and lettuce. i added greek yogurt to the milk for extra protein sometimes.
