    Dermatologist/Endocrinologist question...

what are your risks for remaining obese? list them all out on a sheet of paper. on the other side, write down the risks of having the surgery. compare the lists and then see if you can decide which risks you are willing to take. you can also lose wight other ways... drastic weight loss any way can make your hair fall out. but exercise and diet are usually less drastic, so its likely losing weight this way will not make your hair fall out. you can do a medically supervised diet and work with a personal trainer as an option. maybe try this first and see how it goes. that way you can avoid all the risks as much as possible.

    Blood Test-low vitamin d

if your hemoglobin is lower than 12 you will not be able to have surgery. and it depends on how low your D is, very low can effect healing rates.

    Help

this sounds like C diff. call your doctor back and ask specifically for a test for C diff infection. its a serious infection you can get in the hospital. if you dont hear back today, go to the ER where you had your surgery and ask for the test.
  13. you need to call your doctor, this sounds like C diff. its a serious infection you can catch in the hospital. call your doc right away!
  14. i guess my question would be, why does other people's comments about what you eat get under your skin? (yes its a rude intrusion of your personal boundaries, but people are frequently rude and stoopid) what would you need to rearrange inside of you so that it didnt have any effect on you?

    Lost hope

one thing to remember though, there is no "diet pill" that will increase your metabolism. it doesnt exist. if it did, none of us would have needed surgery. all diet pills... supplements and medications....are stimulants. taking a stimulant and speeding up your metabolism ate different things. there are only a few things that speed up metabolism... exercising, eating, fever and some metabolic disorders. take your pick. diet pills isnt one of them.

    I think I ruined it...

and there are people on this forum who have more serious issues than bad habits. food addiction or dependence or disordered eating (or whatever you want to call it), probably requires more help to deal with than bad habits (though some people need professional help to do that too). some people find that once their hunger is greatly reduced, they no longer have urges to overeat or eat bad things... but for people who have used food to medicate all their feelings, deal with past trauma or cope with life in general, its wasnt ever about hunger in the first place. its about thoughts and feelings, which is unchanged by surgery. if a person is not able to make different choices just a few days out of surgery, he or she probably could use some professional help from a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. there is no shame in getting extra help. clearly, the more help a person has, the more likely it is that he/she will succeed long term. the only thing he/she has to fear is getting really self honest.

    I think I ruined it...

there is still hunger. its greatly lessened, in some almost none, in others more. but we still have stomaches that produce some ghrelin. its not all head hunger, though i would have to say, at such an early stage of being post op, to be cheating on things like pretzels and french fries is not hunger, its withdrawal from food. please seek help in dealing with your food addiction, each day it gets easier to eat, and easier to cheat and easier to rationalize bad food choices. if you dont deal with it now, when will you?

    Liver Issues

you need to find out why your enzymes are elevated. once you treat that, you can move forward with surgery.

my first and last dumping experience!

i dont think there is much doubt about the fact that people with vsg dump from sugar and fat. just because a doctor says doesnt happen, doesnt mean it doesnt! its much less than with bypass, but it certainly happens.

The truth about me good and bad

you can learn to manage your stress without food. it requires effort and commitment, but it can be done. google "stress reduction" "stress management" "relaxation training." good luck!

    Weight Loss Drugs

if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing post op, and you arent losing... you better get back to your doc to find out wtf is going on. if you are not doing what you should be doing, dont waste my time with asking me about bulls**t.

i think you should follow the plan your doctor gave you. i cant imagine why anyone post sleeve would need diet pills for goodness sake! exercise, eat 60-80 grams of lean Protein, get 64 ounces of Water, avoid high sugar and processed carb foods, dont drink your calories. get back in to see your nut!
