    Hunger.

are you getting in all your protein and water? usually in the beginning, when you are hungry its because you aren't getting all your protein or water, or your blood sugar is low... i needed a little honey a few times from low blood sugar, but i have issues with hypoglycemia.

    Long term physical considerations

i think they just dont know. allopathic medicine is so compartmentalized, they are just clueless. why i went and got acupuncture for my stomach emptying issues. (got off the reglan btw, had no idea it was for short term only, no one told me)

    Long term physical considerations

i have been seeing my wonderful chiropractor regularly since the surgery. this is helping a lot. but really yoga has helped the most. since it really helps with "feeling" my body. i have been practicing yoga on and off for 20 years. i was doing it regularly before the surgery and i had to relearn what the heck i was doing in basic poses like down dog. it's been weird, but exciting at the same time. great topic, since its something only people who have gone through this talk about it, not the medicos.

I Am So Angry When People Think Surgery Is The Easy Option!

anger is a trigger for emotional eating. dont waste your energy on people who judge you. even if it is true, so what? brush that shit off and move on, they arent worth you getting worked up over.

For the love of sweet Jesus.....

i think i already posted once this week.... just because you are offended, doesnt make you right. on the contrary, MR has every right to post her rant in the rants section. if'n it makes you feel riled up... avert your eyes!! there is also feature where you can hide the posts of anyone who bothers you... i suggest, instead of insisting that she is a _______ , use it.

4 mths post op and still unhappy

forgot to mention too, if you are crying every day, you should ask your doc to assess you for depression. it's not unusual for people to get depressed after life changing events. normal part of being human. depression also slows healing.

    Home from the hospital

my gall bladder pain was smack dab in the middle of my chest under my sternum. very odd.
  19. but you have to ask yourself what was going on with you that you loved food SO MUCH that you let yourself get obese. many many people who are not obese LOVE food. they savor and enjoy the food they love, but never eat so much they get huge. its not about "why" did you eat, but how did you get to the place you are right now with your body?

Are you really happy post sleevers?

will losing weight make you automatically happy? NOPE. with a big fat N. am i happy i had this surgery? yup. do i feel better physically after losing 80 pounds? yup. am i able to do more things that make me happy now? yup. am i more content? yup. do i like myself more? ummmmm, i dont beat myself up over constantly overeating anymore. do i like my life better? yes and no. i am thrilled that i am healthier. is my life fundamentally the same? sort of. some things are different. very very different. but am i the same person deep down? yup. this surgery can radically change your life. it cant fix the parts of your life that are fucked up. only you can do that. only you can deal with the underlying reasons you overate and became obese. only you can make you happy. this surgery can help you lose weight, which can help make you happy, but losing weight will not make you happy without a lot of work on your part. read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Stranger-Here-Weight-Loss-Surgery-Transformed/dp/1580054463

    TOM and Cravings!

i actually eat the 86% cocoa chocolate from trader joe's... it has a bitter quality to it that not everyone likes, but it sure hits the spot for me, with barely any sugar. also like a scoop of coconut butter... good fat, yummy flavor, no sugar.

4 mths post op and still unhappy

acupuncture really helped me tremendously. my stomach was not squeezing. (emptying) i had pain, gas and then would vomit everything back up. couldn't tolerate anything. i was dehydrated and miserable. i went for acupuncture 3 times a week for several weeks and each time i felt better. it took more than 5 months before i felt like i could eat or drink anything more than little sips and bites.... i am much better now. i am 10 months post op and doing well. i have lost 80#, can eat and drink (not a lot, but enough that i am only slowly losing now!) and feel great. but it took a long time.
