Can we eat noodles on puree stage?

gotta kinda wonder why you are asking if you can eat processed carbs when you are asking why you are putting on weight. what are you eating? are you getting in your Protein? how about fluids? 1-2 protein shakes a day? exercising? i would stay away from Pasta and other processed carbs until you are at goal. they just fill you up with little nutrition.

Can we eat noodles on puree stage?

i was only supposed to have protein and protein shakes and soft veggies like sweet potatoes or fruit like bananas or applesauce. no starches like that until after 3 months AND only if we got in all our protein, water, veggies and fruit.

    My surgeon was just arrested!

i am a former chemical dependency counselor and i can tell you LOTS of medical professionals, including doctors have drug and/or alcohol problems. LOTS. i worked in a program for medical people, cops and firefighters. doctors were the worst in terms of denial and relapse, esp surgeons. hopefully he will get the help he needs. a doctor in buffalo NY hit and killed a young woman skateboarding when drunk. he left her to die by the side of the road.

    Profession after surgery?

i am doing private cheffing right now. its not an issue, since i cook for people on special diets. when i was around sweets all the time at work, (pre surgery), i rarely ate them. at home though, when i baked for my family, it was my time to gorge. it was scary. i dont bake much at home now, but its much better. however, i dont tolerate sweets well. they make me feel icky. if they didnt it might be harder. i grew up eating gluten free (my mom has celiacs). and tend to lose my mind around baked treats. but at work, i seem to do fine. currently working on certification for personal trainer and health coach.
  5. are you waiting a full 30-45 mins after you eat to drink? are you drinking slowly, taking sips and not gulping? try room temp Water too, cold water can make your sleeve freak out. when i feel like you do, i am drinking too soon and not sipping.

    Curious about something....

if you arent compliant, you will regain. i have a friend who lost more than 150 pounds through diet and exercise. she's kept it off for 4 years. you dont need this surgery to maintain a significant weight loss. you need to make life long lifestyle changes. if you dont address why you became fat in the first place, chances are, you will backslide and regain.

Question about Carb intake before exercise w/trainer

you want to choose unprocessed complex carbs that have a low glycemic load. http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/carbohydrates/carbohydrates-and-blood-sugar/ good article.

Question about Carb intake before exercise w/trainer

sweet potato, oatmeal, apple, lentils, sprouted grain breads. whole fat yogurt mixed with fruit. combining with fat will give you a slower burn. avoid processed carbs and nonfat or low fat carbs... make sure you are well hydrated too.. not enough fluids can make you dizzy.

    I knew I shouldn't have said anything!

i think for people who have never had a weight problem, this is a reasonable question.

The Council On Size And Weight Discrimination..

yeah, its bullshit. but you need to extricate yourself from the pissing contest about your medical decisions. just walk away from it. its not your job to convince anyone your medical decisions are a good thing or that WLS in general is a good thing. (you know, unless you are really bored and have nothing better to do) of you are discreet about your surgery, its easier to be at peace with your decision.

    I knew I shouldn't have said anything!

its really not necessary to talk about your surgery with people who are not your intimates. while the surgery's affects are very outwardly visible, it is a medical procedure and your medical status is really only the business of those closest to you. its not your job to put yourself on display for everyone. its not your job to make people accept wls or your decisions. imagine you decided to have a preventative mastectomy. people react intensely to it. many people think its "wrong." would you discuss it with lots of people? probably not. if you decided to do it to possibly save your life, you would be secure in your decision, and not think twice about what your boss, sister in law's boyfriend or neighbor thought. this is similar. do what you need to do. allow others to have their own opinions without trying to get in their heads. take care of yourself without distracting yourself with might being going on with others.

    Pouch test

its all a process. you lose. you stop. you lose. if you get in your protein and fluids, your body is more likely to think that all is well and continue to burn fat. in starvation mode you will of course continue at some point to lose, but the body will burn muscle, rather than fat. that is why it is so important to get in your protein and water. you want to continue to burn fat. but dont expect it to be a steady continuous process, for most people, esp women, it goes in cycles.
  18. i found the book "eating the moment" really helpful!

    Pouch test

you probably need more than 600 cal a day. but dont worry too much about that, for now focus on getting in all your protein and all your water.

    Pouch test

dont these have sugar in them? i would say if you are going to drink anything, it should be Water or Protein shakes. avoid any sugar sweetened anything! to the OP, assuming you are on soft foods ... scrambled eggs, ricotta or cottage cheese, milk, greek yogurt, tofu, mashed Beans, nut butters (unless you are not allowed nuts, i wasnt), ground meats cooked moist, chicken cooked moist. if you are getting in your fluids, protein and exercise, you will begin losing again soon enough. the same thing happened to me and i am still losing at 11 months post op. (PS, you dont have a pouch, you have a sleeve)

    Bored, Bored, Bored

in the end, its all about what's in your head anyway. you just have s jump start on it, take long walks.
  22. i would reframe that. try telling yourself you are *practicing* this new habit. you are practicing becoming mindful about how you eat. it takes at least 6 weeks to form a new habit, so dont give up so soon. after my surgery i thought i would be impossible to not drink with meals. but its second nature now. if you could change on a dime, you wouldnt need this surgery.
