    2 week liquid diet

Not everyone here was put on a liquid diet. If I recall correctly, the "a lighter me" program in Mexico allows you to eat what you want up to the last minute. Seriously? Lemon Water and chili diet? I adore chili, I could do that! The sweetness of the Protein Drinks for two weeks straight gets old quick for a person that wasn't much of a sweets person in the first place. I was allowed chicken broth - the first one I had was like a fine steak to me!

    2 week liquid diet

The first 3 - 4 days are not going to be pleasant. Get yourself some liquid Tylenol for the headaches. After the 3 - 4 days you will be surprised at how well you feel. You'll feel the occasional hunger pang but it won't be as intense as in the beginning. Avoid situations where it would be easy to cheat. Come back here, start a thread, and whine to your heart's content whenever you feel the need - it helps to vent.

    Pysch Eval woes...

My surgeon referred me to the psychologist they usually refer people to and it went very smoothly. Same with the cardiac clearance.

    Android App Testers Needed

I'm not able to post a bug in the app in Bugs & Issues - I keep getting this Service reported: You do not have permission to use this feature. Also for what it's worth, every app I've installed on my Galaxy Note 2 has created a shortcut but this one didn't.
  8. Dude - you're an inspiration to me. I mean that.

    Quinoa, can we?

What is everyone's favorite way to eat it? I've tried a few recipes but they were just "meh" for me.

    cardiac clearance

At mine, they did an EKG and some sort of sonogram on my heart. The cardiologist put me on a daily pill to slow my heart rate down for surgery. Other than that, pretty uneventful

    Tomato soup

My doctor allows full liquids after discharge so I plan on trying it. If I can't tolerate it, I'll try again later.

Any watch the 900 lb man?!

I missed the beginning of the show but I saw this. Why did she behave that way? I thought she wanted him to not die?

    Im struggling preop diet

I am on day 9 of my two-week liquid-only preop diet. The first four days were awful (plus I had allergies to deal with) but I woke up on the 5th day and life didn't suck. I've always been able to deal with a growling stomach but it was the headaches and weakness that I couldn't handle - these were gone and I've been good since. The way I see it, we're the lucky ones. By the time we get to surgery, we'll be past the hungrys. I'd hate to be someone who was allowed to eat what I wanted until the last minute. On top of dealing with recovery from surgery, who needs dealing with not being able to eat all of a sudden. No thanks. My surgeon allowed me the occasional cup of low-sodium broth - this made a world of difference. I am not a fan of sweets and the shakes got old quick. Hang in there, it gets better!

    Working out?

The treadmill is fine as soon as you can get to the gym. The elliptical might be okay. I'd definitely avoid the stairmaster and rowing until 4 to 6 weeks out.

GNC's AMP Wheybolic Extreme 60 chocolate - best tasting chocolate shake using just Water, tastes AMAZING with no fat/skim milk! The GNC I went to made me a sample to try.

    I just don't get it...

Some kids understand when you tell them not to put the fork in the outlet, some kids have to find out for themselves. Some kids have to find out for themselves more than once.

    Pre-op diet?

I'm on day 8 of my two-week preop diet. The first four days were miserable - in addition to fighting allergies, I had headaches, weakness, and all the other symptoms of being hungry. On the 5th day, I felt like normal again (with hunger pangs every now and then, but not severe at all). There are people who were allowed to eat anything they wanted up until the last minute before surgery. If you ask me, we're the lucky ones. Imagine waking up from major surgery and how recovery feels at first. Add to that all the symptoms I just described above - aint nobody got time for that! Get yourself some Isopure (and/or Syntrax Nectar) to supplement your Protein drinks, and/or some Yes whey (not New Whey) bullets. Lastly, get yourself some unflavored protein (Unjury makes this among others) so that you can add it to your clear and full liquids). You're gonna do great - hang in there and remember that many of us have been through the two-week diet, you have us to lean on!

    barely followed my preop diet

Popeye's Fried chicken has been screaming at me almost the whole time I've been on this two-week liquid-only preop diet. I'm happy to hear your surgery went well but I know my luck.
