Did you eat grits in post- op?
DonRodolfo replied to CatherineJo's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
We usually eat them in a bowl, not on a porpoise. [rimshot] -

Chili is generally kinda heavy, i would wait until after full liquids. The jello should be fine now tho. -
How long til I can eat more than 4 oz?
DonRodolfo replied to Brownrek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a puree phase but made sure I kept drinking my Protein drinks even to this day to make sure I was getting my protein in. My secondary surgeon said it should be possible to eat a cup at six months out, but as everything else, this varies by person. You should be able to eat more than a few tablespoons soon. -
Enjoy your stay here.

Wouldn't it make sense to make the sections invisible to the opposite sex? Until then, it's going to keep happening. I bet I'm not the only one that will turn a blind eye to a woman commenting in the men's section. Good luck.

When does it get better
DonRodolfo replied to Ashlee K's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't apologize, it's okay. Many people go through what you're dealing with right now and things will be back to normal soon. Different people heal differently so don't go comparing yourself to anyone else. All those things you said above, you'll be able to do them again soon enough. And yes, absolutely get to a support group asap - as many as you need to. A buddy of mine here on VST goes to 4 different ones and she's 3+ years out. Cry, vent, scream, whatever you need to do. You're in good company here at VST. -
Congrats to you!

Thank you for sharing the positive story! -
Actually she told them that the restraint was not clicked into place properly and they pretty much dismissed her I'm not making excuses for her, but the park should have made her get off of the ride at that point.

I don't think so. There's a wealth of knowledge in that pretty little head and you are someone here that I look up to. So you're not hiding anywhere! -

I appreciate people like you. Sometimes I need a kick in the ass. I hope you are here inspiring people for a long, long time. -
May I ask what that means? I'm not familiar with it.

Anyone else have this during liquid pre op?
DonRodolfo replied to Chellennunley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Freezing? Wait until you have your surgery. I am STILL not a small man at almost 8 weeks out but I find I get way colder in the air conditioning than I used to. -
Metformin post surgery
DonRodolfo replied to bettyb71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had a Metformin since the day after surgery. All you did was hit the dreaded 3-week stall like almost everyone else on this board, I doubt that the Metformin had anything to do with you losing weight again (I'm not a doctor so take that for what it's worth). Personally, start tracking your glucose every day (twice a day if possible) if you aren't already and show it to your doctor and insist you be taken off of it asap if you don't need it. There's a risk of it driving your glucose too low once you've lost enough weight. -

My ample bottom actually fits in the chairs at my doctor's office! I no longer have to sit on the edge or have the arms dig into my thighs. -

Thank you kindly, ma'am! It appears I'll be ordering my Celebrate Calcium Citrate from Bariatric Choice this time! -
10 years and this surgery doesn't make you ugly and old. You're still the same wonderful person on the inside no matter what you look like on the outside. And that wonderful person deserves the very best, don't be afraid to let her have it.
