Shine: thats great that you are able to show so much affection to each other. Diane: it would be great if you and your H can get away. Is he open to that do you think?

I blended soups while in the full liquid stage. Anything that I could put in the blender became fair game during the mushy stage. I am now in the soft stage. I'm using basically the same food as the mushy but without the blender. Meat gravy, potatoes, rice, cooked to death veggies. Can't eat much, but what I can- tastes heavenly!

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...
nume130 replied to mumof2boys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm from Canada as well and I really love shopping at Laura Plus. I always find what I want there but it does cater to more dressy/professional clothes. I buy my clothes for work there rather then my casual clothes. What does everyone do about clothes from starting to goal weight. I don't want to spend money on clothes every couple of months, that could get expensive. I have only been banded for 2 weeks but my clothes are a little loose already. -
Should I Tell the Truth---Or Lie???
nume130 replied to Lynn_Marie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was overfilled by the primer amount they put in during surgery. It was NOT a good week until they took it all out. The last thing I would want if I was you is to be overfilled. My advice- be honest. You can rebook your apt. for another time. -
Crikkit: I'm afraid I don't know anything about the J & J band. Will that reduce the cost of your surgery? The Inamed band is very expensive. You might be able to find something on it on this site. Type it into the search. Or start a new threat in the general lap band discussion to see if anyone responds. Best wishes for Monday!

Doesn't it feel great to be able to enjoy something other then sweet protein shakes! I remember the first savory thing I was able to enjoy. I just closed my eyes... and savoured it... heavenly!

It wasn't my throat, it was my chest that bothered me.

It is funny, I stayed at 190 all week (week 2 post op) and I was barely able to eat anything. I guess it was my body holding on. Finally this morning my scale was 189.5. Looks like its on the way down again. I don't want to lose too fast. Congratulations to everyone!

Raven, you have lost over a hundred pounds just since March!!! Wow girl, amazing!

Hi Diane: I was surprised to see this post resurrected. How are you feeling after your major surgery? I have been trying to keep up on your PS post. You must be so pleased, your results look great. Things are so so. These last 2 weeks post op have not been as easy as I thought they would be. I had a hiatia hernia repair as well and felt like I was walking around with a fist in my chest. The wt. loss, I think is from malnutrion. I can't get in enough calories to feel well and heal, but I think I am starting to turn a corner, I get in about 600-700 calories a day now, so much better. The soft signs of being full really bother me. I get congested and cough a bit for quite a while afer eating less then 1/2 c and my nose itches/sneeze. Its a strange new life and I was hovering on regreting doing this for awhile. I wonder if I will ever feel hungry? But it is early days yet. Nothing new with my H at all. We basically never see each other. I live most of the week away and he is on the road alot. We have been having some challenges with my son and that takes some energy believe me. Basically all our conversations are about him and what we should do next. We are working on selling our house, but we haven't told the kids yet about anything official in the way of seperation. It still appears as business as usual, its been over a year since I got this job that takes me away. But I'm sure the only one to really be upset will be my oldest.

TheGh0st's Extended Tummy Tuck w/Lipo

Congratulations Diane: You are doing so well and look great as well. All your hard work is paying off. -
I was banded on the 5, 2 weeks today and I can finally say I am feeling better. I still have the pain in my chest, it was a fist, but now more the size of a golf ball, by the way it feels. I can finally take in about 4- -50 ounces fluids and a tiny bit of puree. When you can get enough nutrition in- boy what a difference!

I am trying to see if my excercise ticker goes in.
-
I love the idea of setting an excercise goal, my greatest weakness. I think for me, to start will be walking, daily.
-
I work as a consultant, not in clinical practice anymore. Many years in long term care. Sometimes you don't pick what you are going to do, it picks you. I took 1/2 a day off. No problem, no lifting for me anyway. Noone knows at work I am banded.
-
Sweet, do you know what else is covered by OHIP? Any other areas for skin removal from wt loss? ie lower body lift?
-
Congratulations! Take it easy for a few days.
-
Don't worry about not losing wt. fast. That is why I picked lap band because the weight loss is supposed to be gradual. I will have enough loose skin without the rapid wt. loss. I don't want to get to goal for a year (or a bit more). That is 5 lbs per month. More then fast enough for me.

Thats great! If you are still not hungry and can only eat the small amounts that you are, will you still need a fill?
-
I can't imagine having a fill. I have a 10cc band in place and they had to empty it on Friday (4.2cc). I feel better now and can hold a bit more but, after the week I had, I am terrified of getting a fill. It didn't help the lump in my chest but it did help- I can at least picture eating again some day. I'm on mushy stage but, still not taking much. I am sure it'll get better soon.
-
I'm allowed to have mushies as well but I can hardly tolerate much at all.
-
I still have an uncomfortable lump in my chest that makes me hate to drink. My surgery was Oct. 5 and I did have a hiatus hernia repair during the surgery. My surgeon said my stomach was small and the band was loose. I am not getting much fluids in. Shouldn't it be better by now? I don't feel well because of the low intake.
-
Mandy: I know what you mean. I can't get much past the lump in my chest. I am weak from malnutrition.
-
I wonder if I will ever be hungry again?
