I wear a size 7 now but have to wear grannie shoes for comfort. I am hoping with decreased wt, I'll be apply to wear heals (not too high) a really attractive shoe. I also can't do up boots that are higher then my ankles. I am hoping wt loss will change that as well. Has anyone had success with that?

my Ticker says it all! 2 months today for me. It is coming off slower now. I have 1cc in my 10cc band.

I know what you mean. I can pull my pants down without undoing them. I really need new pants but hate to buy any until absolutely necessary.

Do they do an inner thigh lift as well when they do a lower body lift? or do they just cut at the waist around to the back?

Anyone choose to stop getting fills - even before restriction?

I agree with all of the above. I have not been banded long (Oct. 5) but I want a life. I was too tight after surgery so all the primer fluid was removed from my band and I wondered if I would ever need a fill. I did go this week for 1cc in my 10 cc band. I am very comfortable now. I can eat up to 1200 cals per day and about 3/4 to 1 cup of food. I don't feel deprived, I can eat anything I want as long as I chew well. I want to loose weight slowly and I want to enjoy eating as well. The risks of being too tight- frighten me. For me, this is the sweet spot everyone talks about. -
Don't let yourself stay too tight for long. Complications can arise. Also when you are too tight the tendency is to eat higher calorie soft and liquid foods, then the weight doesn't come off then either. When you are at the proper restriction you will loose weight and still get in your nutrition as well.

It is great when your hard work starts to pay off. Congratulations!!!

Tuesday I went for my first fill. They usually fill to 4cc but with 2cc I think I had too much so they took 1cc out. I feel pretty good today. My soft signs of being full are back and I can eat 1100-1200cal. I don't feel deprived. I hope this lasts. It is a comfortable spot and hopefully, I will continue to loose. 1cc doesn't seem like much but, I wondered for a long time it I'd ever need a fill. My clothes are starting to feel loose! :clap2:

I'm 7 weeks post op now. I have an apt on Tuesday for a fill but I'm not sure I'll need one. I have been able to eat about 1500 calories per day lately. I could probably eat a bit more at times. But it is that time of the month and I am at my idea of perfect restriction since yesterday. I am eating 1200 cals per day and am satisfied. I can get stuck if not careful as well. My dilemma: if I get a fill, will I be too tight this time next month? If I don't get a fill, will I be too loose in between times?

I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and still not hungry, still fill up fast and can't imagine needing a fill. I had my first PB today (horrible experience)- so I know that I am not too loose. I know that some don't ever need a fill. Anyone on this forum losing wt without one?

The brands I use: the silicone gel is called New Skin scar therapy and the bandaids are Polysporin scar solution.
-
You can start putting things on your scars as soon as they are healed. I message a silicone based ung on my scars 1-2 x day and use a silicone scar bandaid. The bandaid is probably not necessary, but I want the maximum treatment and I purchased them before surgery, so I'm not going to waste them. I discovered the gel after surgery and decided to use it as well. I also have vit e oil that I put message into the scars at bedtime. They are really starting to fade and my port scar is only barely raised. I expect it to continue to improve. I must say, I am very pleased with their progress.

I was banded on Oct. 5 and have nothing in my band. I too want to go slow but steady with my weight loss. I am going to the surgeons office to discuss a fill next week. I most likely will get one because even though I know I have some restriction- I will still get food stuck at times. I feel that lately my food intake is a bit higher than I want. I want to avoid being too tight at all costs.

Beautiful! -
I was told 6 weeks as well.
-
I had 4.2cc in my band during surgery but it was all removed 1 week later. They said they always prime it, but I guess it depends on the band you get.
-
I am going to see about a fill a week from tomorrow. I am not sure I need one because I am not really hungry- and it is easily satisfied, but I can eat more then I should. I am still losing wt but more slowly then before (only .8 lbs last week). I am so worried about being overfilled. I think if they do it I will ask for a very conservative fill. I was so tight just after surgery, I'm a bit gun shy. -

Back in the saddle again! It felt good to go back to horse back riding lessons. I am so new to it (just started this summer) that it really is a good workout. I was to wait 6 weeks but I went back on Monday. Now if I could just talk myself into using my gym membership that I pay monthly for, I will really get somewhere. This week for sure I am going to go!!!

Everyone is doing great. I think I have stalled. I'll weigh in Monday and see.
-
It is normal. There is lots of swellling post op.
-
My stomach is just now getting back to size (6 wks out)

I had alot of pressure in my chest as well post op. I had a hiatus hernia repair during the surgery and quite a bit of fluid put in as primer. Once they took out the fluid, it was better in a few days. I wasn't able to take vitamins whole until just recently. Do you have fluid in your band? Did you have a hernia repair?
-
That is what it was like for me post op. I then had all the fluid removed until I could heal up. The fluid would just sit there and then slowly go down.

I have been thinking about that alot myself. I had purchased some very nice business clothes over the last couple of years and now I look at the closet and hope that I can wear them without looking shabby. I hate the thought of puting out for the expense again, but one of the dreams that I have is going into some of the ladies stores and actually being able to try on clothes from there. My goal is to never shop in a plus size store again. I might need to buy a pair of dress pants and just change up the tops.... to tide me over when I change sizes.
