    Judging...

I am 2 weeks PO and had the exact same feelings as you did. This surgery is no joke and at this point I am still feeling a little like WTH did I do? I know the first 4-6 weeks are the hardest, I will reevaluate after that how I feel about the whole thing. Make sure you are ready to change your life. The early days are a breeze for some, and not so breezy for others. I am somewhere in between. I have lost 20lbs post op so far, but it is not easy! Not trying to scare anyone, rather go in with your eyes open. It has been comforting for me to know others had a tough start and ended up loving their new life.

    6 weeks/ 8 weeks lost 30 lbs

I agree 100% vegasneon!! This is hard. I am sure it will be worth it in the end, but it is by far the hardest thing I have ever done .

    June sleevers?

Is it possible to get too much protein in at one time? I try and space mine out a bit.

    severe constippation

I have been drinking prune juice mixed with water, so far so good!
  5. I started my journey back in January and lost 45 lbs pre op. I have lost 16lbs at 2 weeks post op and for the first time in 7 years I wore my wedding ring!!!! I was so happy that it fit again. I am looking forward to it getting too big!

    Post op food help!

30lbs in 2 weeks??? Is that all since surgery? I would think that is way above average! I would be thrilled with that!
  7. Thought we could start a thread to see how we r all doing 11 days PO. I have had a fairly smooth recovery. Protein and water where it should be, good energy, getting out and about. I have been drinking prune juice, you can imagine why! My biggest struggle is mental. I am down 15 lbs since surgery and feel like my face and body is so much less bloated. I can see the weight loss in my face and clothes. But, it is not all sunshine and rainbows. I struggle with not being able to eat as my family does and go to a restaurant. I know this will come in time, but it still an adjustment. Such a drastic change does not come without its challenges . I have had some WTH have I done moments, but think it will fade as I lose more weight. Just wondering how the rest of us are doing!?!?!

    Anyone from NC?

Maybe you guys can give me some advice! I will be traveling to the Outer Banks with my family when I am 6 weeks PO. My Dr office says its ok, but I should know where a bariatric hospital is in relation to my vacation in case of any issues. Do you know of a hospital in proximity to Kitty Hawk that performs bariatric surgery? Thanks!

    Thirsty @day 10

I literally drink all day long. I am constantly siping something. I start from the moment my two feet hit the floor! You can do this, it's your full time job! I was sleeved 6/25. I am finishing my last ounces now before I let myself go to bed.

    June sleevers?

Thanks for sharing NewMommy! I am 11 days PO and have been doing fine, but I feel the "paper info" my Dr gave me was minimal and not laid out nice like yours. I guess it is the teacher in me....I like info presented clearly and easy to understand.

    Stalling too early!

I feel your pain! I have been the same weight since day 6. I am now day 10. Frustrating so early out!

    Buyers remorse anyone?

I have had some " holy cow what have I done" moments. I am 9 days PO and it does get better. I will say it is not easy, the mental part for me is tough. It will be interesting to see how my attitude changes as time goes on.

I just cant do it /:

I had surgery the same day and I love the GNC powder "Lean 25". I have chocolate peanut butter and a banana flavored powder and I mix one scoop of each with a cup of skim milk. I split it into 2 drinks and sip it slowly. It tastes like a Choc punt butter banana milkshake!! Put it in a cup in the freezer for 1/2 hour is even better! You will feel much with some protein. It is needed for healing!

    New here

In my opinion traveling that soon is a really bad idea. My surgeon wants no travel for 3-4 weeks in case you need him. You will have many opportunities to travel when it is safer and more enjoyable. Just my 2 cents

    Excited but anxious

I am 8 days PO and I can assure you I was nervous and second guessing my decision on the way to the hospital!!! It is a big change and it is a good sign that you take this seriously! I woke up from surgery thinking I had made a mistake... I was scared! But things got better quickly for me and I have been doing great! Keep reading the success stories. I have had a textbook recovery so far and am down 13 lbs since surgery day. Best of luck to you.

    June surgery dates

Aline... If I don't brush my teeth immediately upon waking, I could gag! My mouth feels gross most of the day as well.
  17. I am 1week post op and doing great . I get in all my protein, liquids, have no nausea, hardly any pain, pretty good energy level...lost 12lbs since surgery....where am I going with this? Today my emotions got the best of me and became obsessed with " what if I develop a leak". I know the likely hood is low, but I am second guessing everything today. Ugh, can anyone talk me out of this funk?
  18. I know the feeling well, I am 5 days PO. I will not lie to you, the first day sucks. Hang in there... It gets better really fast. Day 5 and I walked 20 minutes and went to Target for a while . Get used to traveling with a drink. You will never again be empty handed!

    Dizziness after surgery

I am day 5 and if I don't have some sugar from apple juice or G2 throughout the day I feel the same way. I also need to start a protein shake soon after waking or I feel crappy!
  20. Day 3 post op, doing well ! I take walks up and down the block 3 or 4 times a day, walk around the house , shower, read with my kids, watch tv and drink liquids all day. Sound right? I have taken about a 1 hour nap today and yesterday. Each day is a little better!

    sleep study

Go through the motions of getting the machine and bring it to the hospital. I also had mild sleep apnea and wearing the machine on the hospital overnight was peace of mind. Sleep apnea is worse after anesthesia and narcotic pain killers. I have not used it since being home.
  22. What a great post for me to read as I sip on my shakes at 5 days post op. thanks for the encouragement to us newbies!!
  23. I am day 5 and I am the same way. Called my doc this morning to see if I was drinking too much!

    When can you shake?

As soon as I was home I started shakes and liquids. I came home the evening after surgery, started the next day.
  25. I am post op day 4 and am wondering if I can take in more than 6 oz an hour? I am getting everything easily and my instructions say at least 64 oz liquid. Do you vets think it is ok to drink as tolerated?
