    Best Post-Surgery Habit

Protein, protein and protein!!! I am 3.5 months post op and I used to have serious food addiction...sometimes just eating when I wasn't hungry. Getting my protein in helps so much with everything. I also started exercising more and that is a wonderful habit to develop. I pay attention to everything that goes in mt mouth.

    African American Sleevers

I just wanted to share one of the best feelings I experienced yesterday with my 7 year old daughter since surgery..We were in a clothing store and my daughter said "mommy you should try this on...it is so pretty for you.." I looked at the size (16) and told her mommy can't fit into that. She told me just put it on and I did. Amazed to my surprise it fit!!!! I was in a size 24 in March before the surgery. I have not been in a 16 in over 17 years. That evening I did not celebrate with food like I used to do before surgery, but with exercise. One of the best feelings in the world!

    Carbs

I found these good energy bars at costco that are high in fiber, not too many carbs, fat, or calories. They taste good and keep me full. I work nights so theyhelp me from snacking on the wrong things. I have like 6 different protein shakes. My favorite is a coffee and chocolate one. I use almond milk and it actully tastes like a milkshake. I always search around for other high protein, low carb recipes online. Youtube has really good ones. Fruit works well with me. The doctor told me the carbs from fruit are better for you than from a starchy food, and get digested better. I usually make mine into a smoothie and take a few sips. It goes down easier. I eat lunch meat as a snack also. I am nervous about eating too many carbs so I just eat a bite of something that is high in carbs.

What brand of Greek yogurt do you like?

As far as the greek yogurt, I like chobani. I didnt like the dannon greek either. I like the dannon light and fit yogurt. Some of the other yogurts are good but are higher in sugar, calories, and carbs.

    African American Sleevers

Hi, I have been at a standstill for 2 weeks now. Has that happened to anyone else? It is so frustrating not seeing the scale move. I was sleeved march 22nd, and list 40 pounds thus far.I've been walking and taking in my protein. Should I switch something up? Maybe my body needs a change? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi ..I am 6 weeks post op. I've lost 37 pounds thus far. However this morning I wanted to cry. I've gained 2 pounds. Did anyone else go through this? I know I'm losing inches. I've just gotten used to the scale going down.

    African American Sleevers

I take in about 70 grams of protein in. I am getting about 48 ounces of water. I do walk. Due to a previous knee injury I cannot do heavy exercise. As far as carbs I've been eating beans, mandarin oranges, and yogurt. Yesterday I was craving peanut butter and had 2 peanut butter crackers . I checked the label and it was not a lot of calories, sugar nor carbs.

    African American Sleevers

Hi I am 3 weeks post op and not losing weight as fast as I was in the beginning. I wanted to ask what I can do to make sure I'm doing everything right. I walk just about everyday. Im not sure if my diet is where it should be. I drink my shakes and I'm introducing more pureed food into my diet. Does anyone have any suggestions and a daily menu they follow?

Wow. I will try bananas. I havent tried that yet. Yeah, I think switching up may help. I think the body doesn't respond to the same routine. Thx for the tip. How much have you lost so far?
