    Vitamix blender

Love my Vitamix! It was a great investment
  2. Okay I've asked this question before but want to ask it again. I'm getting sleeved next week and earlier today stumbled upon an old and honest thread. Many we're talking about how much they regret doing it, wish they hadn't and had suffered complications along with depression. So am wanting to ask this question again....Any hardcore regrets after the first couple of weeks??? Reading all that today has hit me pretty hard

    Any regrets at all?

I'm absolutely ready for the change & know it's just a tool. The complication and regret part are what scare me. Other than that I've researched & prepped like crazy. My surgery is next Thursday

    Any regrets at all?

Thank you so much...I needed to her that. Before I asked this same question & received mostly positive feedback but the thread I read today started by somebody else was a lot of negative & regretful ppl. They were all just being honest but it totally freaked me out

Are most Sleevers Women? If so Why?

I've seen and chatted with a lot of men on here. I think everyone's right though....women just talk more.

    Mexico

Yes and no... The hospital is clean and has equipment etc.. It reminds me a LOT of my little hometown hospital. It's definitely not a clinic or "scary" But it's not like a big fancy US hospital. Also, you have to ASK.. I even had to ASK the nurse to help make sure I was walking enough. I also had to keep an eye on my IV bag and make sure that it was still dripping. Seems like I read that somewhere else too. A good tip to know about the walking

    Mexico

I am having my wls at Mi Doctor Hospital. I hear it has the same standards as US hospitals.
  14. My patient coordinator that I'm using now said that Dr Almanza is a great surgeon. I was originally going with him but backed out because of the clinic he works out of. I think your right though...in the end we have to choose the best surgeon that fits our needs.
  15. In preparation for my surgery next month I told both my 16 yr old son and my 10 yr old daughter. I was very positive about it and at the time they both seemed to take the news well. I only revealed the good like how moms going to be healthier. Now my daughter is having a hard time with it. I'm going to MX for 5 days to have the surgery there so she is apprehensive about that as well. I've had many talks with her but now I am feeling so guilty for making her uneasy and insecure. Did I make the wrong decision in telling her? I wanted to give them time to process it before I left. Has anyone else had these kinds of issues with telling children?

    Child's reaction to surgery

My ins wouldn't cover the Sleeve so MX is much more affordable
  17. Just wondered if any of you Sleevers had surgery and if it was less extreme pain than you expected it to be? Or if the whole journey in itself (food & all) was easier than expected? Hoping to be one of those but preparing anyway.

    Blushing Like Mad

Oh so happy for you! Reading this really made me smile. Keep up the good work!

    Better or worse than expected?

Thank you so much to all of you for sharing your experience & for being so honest about it. I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you as well
  20. Good luck to you! Let us know how surgery goes

    Better or worse than expected?

I decided to just prepare myself for real pain and if it's better than expected then I will be pleasantly surprised. The only way for me to calm my nerves is to research every aspect of this surgery. I just want to go into it with very little surprises. I'm mainly curious about the pain because I have to fly home a cpl days after getting sleeved.

    Better or worse than expected?

That's great! Hope I'm like that too. I had a Hysterectomy a cpl years ago and was out shopping all day right out of the hospital. My doctor was not happy about that. Lol! Keeping my fingers crossed to have another experience like that
  23. I would like to hear your story Fletcherette. Did you go thru A Lighter Me?
  24. I can't even put into words how much you have put my mind at ease by posting this. I will be having surgery next month with the same surgeon and at the same hospital. Janese is also my patient coordinator. After reading about the recent passing of a member I have started getting apprehensive about surgery. Just knowing the hospital/staff are so great has calmed me down. So excited for you that things have gone so smoothly for you. Thanks again for sharing
