Does everyone going back after a couple days have a drain? I will still have my drain in until Tuesday.

My sister in law is a nurse on a bariatric/transplant floor. She is also more overweight than i am. She just keeps saying things to my husband about What will happen when i have bad Things happen. I feel like she's waiting for me to have a complication or fail. She keeps getting to say it's because she sees so many complications but i know it's because she is jealous. She's too afraid to go through with it so she's just going to keep being miserable with her life.

I told most of my co-workers/friends. The skinny ones were a little more negative that's why i waited to tell them until i had a date but their negativity truly felt like concern for me and my well being. I've been pretty lucky that i have gotten a lot of positive feedback when we have told people, They have been very proud of me for going through it and are excited for me.

I know it sounds shallow but her wedding is in October and i am going to look hot when I'm there! !!

Thanks for all the support. I've been dealing with her negativity since I texted her months ago saying i was having this done. Her response was oh no don't do it. I wasn't Asking her permission i was telling her what i was doing! I am also a nurse and understand what the complications are. The only one i had to discuss if I was having it done with was my husband, I don't need to get permission from anyone. I'm a grown woman who makes her own decisions!

How is everyone doing today? Yesterday i got 43g of protein and 60 oz of water. Took pain meds 5 Times and took a 15 minute walk. Last night was my best night of sleep, took pain meds before bed but didn't need any in the middle of the night. So far today I've taken one dose of pain meds and already got in 20g of protein. It only took me an hour to drink a slim fast. My goals for today are getting my 60g of protein, 60oz of fluids and go for a walk. I also want to get down to 3 doses of pain meds. Thinking about making some jello to get used to things with a little more thickness.

I don't notice that i feel colder but i always have a comforter on!

They told me try to follow the rule of 60:60. 60g of protein 60oz of fluids. They told me it could take a couple weeks to get to that but that is the goal. I am on full liquids for 1-2 weeks depending on how i tolerate them. I also don't start my vitamins and actigall until my post op check on Tuesday. I am taking my pepcid cause it's a small pill and b12 because it is sublingual.

I keep a jug of water with me everywhere I go even if it's just from the couch to the bed. I'm sipping constantly. I also had a cup of strained cream of chicken soup tonight. I've only hit 46g of protein but I've gotten my fluids in. I'm done for the night with food! I think I'll save the jello for tomorrow! Gonna take pain meds and go to bed soon!

I was just sleeved on Monday and did not even get discharged until Thursday afternoon. The first day home i was in a lot of pain with pain meds every 4 hours. Yesterday i only took 4 doses of pain meds and so far today I've only taken one dose but plan on another at bedtime. I feel like I'm turning a corner today but everyday I've needed an afternoon nap too. Don't know if you can get that at work?!

I'm drinking the low carb high protein slim fast it has only 2g net carbs. It's a good thing I can tolerate them because i got the sample pack of the syntrax cause i heard some people can't tolerate milk based stuff afterward and i haven't had one i like yet.

I've heard with this surgery you can have nausea for a couple months. I had it bad in the hospital and was on 4 different nausea meds cause my esophagus was swollen so nothing was going down. The doctor sent me home with a scopalomine patch and a script for it as well. Its a patch that goes behind your ear that you change every 3 days. If you don't have a script for something i would definitely call the doctor you don't want to get dehydrated cause you'll end up back at the hospital.

I was only on clear liquids while in the hospital. After i got home i started my protein shakes. I also find its easier to be standing it eases the chest pain i get when i drink. I am also taking my pain meds about every 4-5 hours. My first day home (yesterday) I was in a lot of pain it is starting to ease today but i feel like i still need them on a routine basis.

Wow home already? I was sleeved on Monday and am going home today i did have the option is staying another day if i wanted. I had setback though and did not pass my barium swallow the day after surgery so that held me up a day. I have to say three worst day was the day after surgery with pain and nausea but they were giving me a lot of nausea meds and i had my pain pump until this morning. I did think that second day omg what did i do but today I'm feeling pretty good and i think i am turning the corner. You will get there be patient.

I had surgery Monday then Tuesday i did not pass my barium swallow so another day Nothing by mouth. Today they did a kub xray and just came to tell me out looked good and i can start my 30cc/hr! So excited.

Every doctor seems so different. My doctor has had me on two weeks of protein shakes two days of clear liquids and i had to do a bowel prep of for glasses of golytely yesterday. Surgery tomorrow at 11:00 I have to be at the hospital at 8!

You are lucky you don't have to do a bowel prep! I'm just glad i didn't have to do the whole jug just 4 glasses. Funny how every surgeon has such different preps.

Went to all my preop appts more blood met with anesthesia and admitting to preregister yesterday! Got all my scripts filled too, my golytely (yeah!) actigall pepcid and roxycodone. Its real and almost here! This is happening!

I know I'm only hurting myself but i just cannot do this 2 week protein shake diet. 1 week down and there has not been one day that i have gotten completely through. What is wrong with me? I need to buckle down and get through it surgery is only a week away.

I'm April 22nd too!! Just got my date yesterday!

Got my surgery date. ..April 22nd!!! I start my preop diet...now. The nurse told me I start it today but she didn't schedule me till noon today so I'm going to start at midnight. I'm so excited but just want it to be here so i can be on my journey!
