I'm having the worst pain on my right side. Feels like a pull or pinch. Anyone else have this problem?

Still in pain.....
CoreyCan replied to momoftwins+1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very normal stuff. It gets better…promise -
My daughter was sleeved yesterday. She's allergic to all narcotic pain meds (including Tylenol w/codeine). Was sent home and told to take children's chewable Tylenol. It's not enough so I called her doctor and he said to give her chewable Advil. I'm questioning this because she was given a blood thinner this morning and I know it says not to take ibuprofen with blood thinners, and also when I was sleeved I was told no more ibuprofen, ever. I'm confused and not sure if I should give it to her or not. Anyone have a similar experience?

No carbonation ever again?
CoreyCan replied to Loristi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I drink carbonated drinks sparingly. Only because of the gas it gives me. Painful gas. I will have a seltzer Water or a beer on occasion but for the most part I stay away because of the gas. (I'm a year out). -
Help! Ibuprofen after surgery?
CoreyCan replied to CoreyCan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all so much for the feedback! I held out last night and didn't give it to her. I will give it to her today however if she really needs it. Researched it a little more and the reason besides blood thinning is it takes a while to break down in the stomach and can cause an ulcer. I think a chewable for a couple of days will be ok. I'll alternate the Tylenol and Advil. -
Air Travel after surgery?
CoreyCan replied to GardenLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I travel often for work as well and traveled NJ to Las Vegas for a convention 3 weeks after surgery. You'll be fine just make sure you pllan ahead. You have to either bring Protein shakes with you (have to check them though) or know exactly where you're going to get them when you land. -
Surgery in 3 days any advice?
CoreyCan replied to Laurensloss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey! I'd definitely get some Isopure for the first week. I got the fruit punch and added a fruit punch Crystal Light pouch to make it a little sweeter and take away that "protein" taste. Yes, you'll be tired. I was really tired for about 4 days, then just felt worn down for about 2 weeks. My advice is to not baby yourself too much. I know not all agree, but I pushed myself and walked every day. It helped tremendously. Remember it will get better. When people ask me about the surgery I say, the first 2 weeks sucked (just felt weird and not like myself) and as a whole the first 2 months were just a huge learning experience, not easy. But I will tell you it's ALL WORTH IT! I'm a year out and it's the best thing I ever did for myself. After about 4 or 5 months you're life will slowly stop revolving around your sleeve and you'll start to feel normal again. I went from a size 18/20 to a size 8 and couldn't be happier. 4 more days til you start getting your skinny on!!! -
Nausea will pass. When anyone asks "how was it?" my response is always the same. 'First 2 weeks SUCKED, first 2 months were, eh.' A lot of trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Now I'm 11 months out. Down 60 lbs. Went from a size 18-20 to an 8-10. Would do it ALL OVER AGAIN! It gets better, I promise

I started at 3 weeks with regular coffee. Could really only drink about a 1/2 of cup for a long time. I never used sugar, just a little half and half. I'm 11 months out now and am fine
-
So I'm 10 months post op and for the last week every time I eat I'm nauseous. I've had no problems up til now and I'm not sure why this is. I'm DEFINITELY NOT PREGNANT! lol But it's the same kind of nauseous feeling as when I was (many years ago..). Any thoughts?

Sleeve for 13 year old. Doctor recommendations Mexico
CoreyCan replied to slcmommy5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My daughter is 16 and getting surgery April 16. She's been "obese" since she was 8 and is now "morbidly obese". She's been teased to tears and begged me to let her get it done now so she can have her last year of high school feeling "normal". I know one had said how hard it was at 39, how would a 13-year old handle it. Well, I'd just say I think it would be easier for a 13-year old with only 5 years of bad habits built up, than a 39-year old with say 31 years of bad habits. I'm not sure I agree with 13, only because of puberty and other physiological issues but if you have a reputable doctor telling you it's a good idea, he certainly would know more than me (and everyone else -
Help i am 3 weeks post op
CoreyCan replied to HalloweenBaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 months out but remember this all to well. It will come off. Your body is afraid to let it go, but once it realizes it has no other choice you will wake up one morning having lost 4 or 5 lbs. Just happens. If you think about how many calories you used to eat and how many you eat now, it's impossible not to lose. It will happen...promise! -
Am I falling back to old habits
CoreyCan replied to FRED1977's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have become a snacker, but I find if I eat meat I get fuller for longer so if I do that first then I don't eat as much crap. I started using My Fitness Pal and tracking my calories. If I stay at 1200 I lose, if I go over I don't. -
Start tracking everything you put in your mouth. Liquids have calories too. Some shakes are almost 200 calories each. Drink your water. And start walking! If you do nothing else, at least walk. It will come off, promise!

Might want to try a 1/2. Everything seems to hit me much stronger than it used to.

4 weeks for me. Took me forever to finish my glass of wine buy I enjoyed every last drop of it! It was good to feel "normal" again. I'm now 2-1/2 months out and have a glass (or 2) of wine once or twice a week.

regreting this whole thing

Regardless of her previous posts, if you're concerned for her well being a private message would've been more appropriate. -
When do the god awful gurgles stop?

Calling all slowish losers--please post your losses so far!
CoreyCan replied to TES's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved April 17 start weight 214, today 186. I didn't lose much the first month. I lose about 2 lbs a week which I'm happy with. Better to be going down than up! -
What am I doing to myself?
CoreyCan replied to jvonna09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also did the same thing. I started everything earlier than my doctor would've wanted me to. I felt hungry all the time. Your stomach is swollen and numb right now so you won't feel the restriction yet. I started taking Pepcid twice a day and it helped. I didn't't cook for 2 weeks because I couldn't handle the smell of the food, I wanted to eat it. Just try and keep yourself away from trigger food (favorites). I'm 9 weeks out and feel like a totally normal person again. First couple of weeks sucked but it will get better. Promise! -
"Don't mess with what God gave you!" and other crazy comments

Unfortunately I don't have much tact when it comes to this. How about "mind your f'n business"? -
Is this normal? No weight loss
CoreyCan replied to Tiffanyhoneybee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find the lower the calories I eat the slower I lose. I eat 800-1000 per day and am losing 2-3 lbs a week which I'm very happy with. When I was only eating 600 I was always tired, dizzy and didn't lose. My husband and I went to Vegas when I was 5 weeks and he laughed because I was totally spent by 8pm every night (that is soooo unlike me lol)! I also started adding some carbs. Oatmeal mainly and I think that also helped. Good luck to you. -
Where Is Everyone From?
CoreyCan replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jackson, NJ -
So this Wednesday I'll be 8 weeks out. I've been doing great. Losing slow but steady. My question is, how did everyone handle fruits and vegetables? I mistakingly ate artichoke about 3 weeks out (it was in something I ate) and I thought I was going to die. I've been terrified of trying anything else but I'm DYING to eat something fresh (without parents). Let me know your thoughts! Thanks
