I'm embarrassed to say but I had 2 dreams 2 nights in a row revolve around...doughnuts! Soooo strange. I rarely ate doughnuts pre sleeve so it's odd that that's the food I'd dream about.
-
Aww you'll feel better soon. First day of surgery I was so drugged I slept all day, second day was not so good. So nauseous and couldn't even take a sip of water. BUT third day and on I was feeling pretty good. Every day gets better. Promise

Day 6 post sleeve
CoreyCan replied to naturally_bad77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No!!!! You're incisions have to be healed before you can take a bath. Sorry for the bad news, but there's too much bacteria in sitting bath water. Won't be long -
POD8 and I am one moody, cranky, nasty woman. Stopped smoking, drinking (temporarily) and eating. I know it will get better, but right now I'm not happy

That's awesome! I can totally relate to all of the feeling because I had all of those feelings pre-op. Day of surgery will feel surreal. Day after is a little rough but totally do-able. And then every day after gets a little (some days a lot) better. Walk, walk, walk! The more you walk the faster you start to feel "normal". Well that's my two cents lol Good luck to you:)

Hey srpeyes! I'm from Jackson. Not sure how far south you are. Who's your doctor? I had my surgery last Wednesday (4/17).

I do recognize it and I can't seem to change it right now. I quit smoking 4 days before my surgery. Should have done what I told my doctor I did which should have been about 6 weeks before my surgery. Then I'd be over it and just dealing with this alone. Ok I'm sick of hearing myself whine

You can take Tylenol only. No ibuprofen.

Post - Op - Day 8

I'm also 8 days out and have been trying different things too. Protein shakes have been hard to choke down so I started trying some soft foods (before my NUT's time) just to get my protein in and I've tolerated almost everything (except chicken as well). I have yet to have a full feeling, not sure I can actually feel my stomach. I don't do anything SF because it has the sugar alcohol in it and it does cause me stomach pains. I quick smoking, gave up my "occasional" glass of wine (or two), and can't eat...yes I'm really pleasant these days...hardly. -
Thanks ladies and freetobeme can you let me know what your doctor says? I don't go until Friday. Thanks again!

Good luck Becky! Remember everyday gets better! You'll do great

Haven't "gone" since last Tuesday the day before my surgery. I know I'm not really eating much besides yogurt and soup but isn't this too long?

Haven't "gone" in 6 days

Thank you, I'll be heading to CVS this morning for some Milk of Mag -
I had my surgery on April 17 (last Wednesday) and I feel like nothing satisfies my hunger. I'm already on yogurt and soups and still hungry. I'm going to start taking Pepcid twice a day instead of just in the morning to see if that helps. Please I don't want the "I had the surgery 6 months ago and am still hungry" responses. Only the "it will be better in about.....". I know pretty picky post lol I just don't have it in me to here anything negative today.

Force protein or just get liquid in?
CoreyCan replied to Mrs.Ally's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been drinking one Isopure drink a day. 40g protein. You can get them at GNC. -
When do you stop feeling hungry?
CoreyCan replied to CoreyCan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks folks! I needed the that! I need to try and be more patient. I'm going to be moving on up to pureed by the end of the week so hopefully then I'll feel a little more satisfied. -
Surgery on monday! Any last minute advice?
CoreyCan replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep in mind that every day is better than the last. Day after is a little rough, but it will I promise get better. I'm post op day 4 and I'm feeling good. I walk 1 mile every day, slowly of course but it has helped tremendously. If you have gas try warm liquid followed by a walk, works like a charm for me! You'll do great! You're a day away from getting your skinny on! Good luck! -
Protein shakes week 1?
CoreyCan replied to CoreyCan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks folks, those that did start shakes early did that include all full liquid items or just shakes? -
So I'm only 2 days out, but I'm starving. When did everyone transition from clear to full liquids? I know a shake would take this feeling away. Thoughts?
-
Hey Stephen! So glad you're home safe and sound So you're only a day behind me. I can tell you everyday gets a whole lot better. I'm feeling good today, lots of energy and stomach muscles are starting to feel better. As far as the gas, besides walking try drinking something warm and then walk around. It worked really well for me. I have made it a point to walk 1 mile everyday and I really think that's why I'm feeling so good. I walk slow but I always feel good when I get back and am sleeping better too. And ya gotta love the hospital weight gain, it will come off pretty quick once you're up and about again. Yay for us! We're on our way! Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing--Corey

Holy, just looked at my surgery ticker and it's says 0 days! Not that I haven't been aware ALL day due to the clear liquid diet (STARVING!), but to see my little mermaid on the 0 mark freaked me out! lol Hoping all goes well. Started with wicked allergies yesterday. Hoping that's not a problem. Surgeries not til 12:15 EST so I guess I'll try to sleep late so I don't freak out watching my husband drink his coffee knowing that it will be a while before I can have any. Love coffee. I'll miss that more than food in the beginning. Well enough rambling. See y'all on the other side! Woot! Woot!

I started taking the chewable vitamins (Opurity orange/berry) and can hardly chew and swallow them now (they're nasty ) I can't imagine getting them down after the surgery (next wednesday ). Oh and they're huge! I've tried liquid Alive ...no chance! That was REALLY gross. Any suggestions? I really need to order something else soon for next week. Thanks

I stopped typing to talk to my husband then I look down and see 3 purple bubbles and then some random story about 2 sentences long that doesn't make sense. I wasn't touching it at all. I am going to go to the Apple store today.
