    Smoking!

I quit just over five weeks ago. Used chantix and still using it for maintenance. I took my blood nicotine test at three weeks and cleared it. The doc said he would still do surgery but lectured on the issues related to it. I feel so much better and don't want to go back but admit there are times that I really want one. I have cheated only twice and it was directly related to stress. Luckily I have two little ones who have no problem keeping me in line.
  3. I smoked close to a pack a day. Started cutting back and then took chantix. I'm still using chantix for maintenance. I feel much better there have been some tough moments when I really wanted to cheat.
  4. I took a blood nicotine test exactly three weeks after I quit. I was VERY nervous as they told me 3-4 to be clean. The test came back <2 which apparently is very low and luckily in my case acceptable.

    Anyone here from Texas?

I am using Dr Michael Lee at the medical school. Fairly new to Dallas but my experience has been top notch. Exceptional background. Quick replies. Easy appointments and I'm scheduled for early May.

Wanna be friends? You know you wanna!

Hi Sondra - just saw your post - we are all about the same time - maybe we could get a small group setup and work together and not necessarily all the 1000's of people out here. lol

Whats the hardest part for you?!

My biggest fear is failure. And I'm not talking about 6 months post op. but it seems whenever I get close to the goal that I get complacent and never lose those final 20 pounds. An that eventually opens the door to regaining everything. Of course the anesthesia scares me a little but I have faith that I will be ok in that perspective.

    6 Months - Ground to a Halt

Although I haven't been sleeved yet this is actually one of my biggest concerns. Always in the past I would get to 10-20 lbs of my goal. I felt so good and comfortable that I would just let it slide and never make those last few pounds. I worry the same will be true with the sleeve - as much as I don't want it to be!

So Who's The Fat Girl Now?!

  15. when you are ready to get out rid of clothes, wash them, fold them nicely and with a super sweet smile bring them all to her and simply say, "I thought you might want first pick of these before I get rid of them." Leave it at that - as my mama always said, be sweet enough to leave them wondering if you are being a b***h or just clueless.....a nicey b***h was her exact term.
  16. Great work!!! And love the cat!!!

    Frustrated :,(

Sounds like the year limit is randomly set by your PCP. If it isn't for insurance or specific health issue then dump him. You shouldn't have to wait because of his own guidelines for WLS.
