I got sleeved yesterday!
Jessie Lyons replied to Harpo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got sleeved 2/19 and was in so much pain and when I tried to eat it was nearly impossible, now I'm day 8 post op and it only gets better with each passing day! As long as you takes your time eating and chose the right things you feel amazed by how little food you need to fill you up! So if you start feeling that frustration from eating know it's only temporary! Good luck and congrats ! You deserve to be happy w yourself and your kids are gonna love your new found energy ! -
I have been experiencing this burning sensation on my heart, usually while drinking (I haven't really started eating yet) it's not heartburn it's like an actual burning sensation on my heart...is this just another form of gas pain? Is this normal?

I'm not eating or drinking enough... Day 3 post op
Jessie Lyons posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 2/19 and I'm starting to realize I'm definitely not drinking enough and I'm too scared to eat. I had 3 sips of a protein shake, half a Gatorade bottle and 8 bites of sugar free fat free chocolate pudding since my surgery 3 days ago. I'm really worried I am going to get dehydrated but I am PETRIFIED of throwing up. HELP! -
Curious as to how much weight I'll lose
Jessie Lyons replied to Harpo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How much weight you lose is up to you, because your sleeve can easily make you lose 100+ pounds but if you're not eating right or exercising your stomach can stretch and you can regain some of your weight. The healthier you are in your choices the more weight you will lose. The sleeve is just a helper but at the end of the day we all still have to make those necessary life changes... I was more of a burger kinda gal who loves drinking ciders and I am 3 days post op and its tough but I know in the end it's gonna be worth it! So stay positive and try to make as many healthy decisions as you can ( we're only human so eating something bad once in a while is bound to happen ) -

My journey for getting this surgery has been about a year. From finally deciding to do this to getting my primary insurance turned down after a ridiculous loop hole, to getting a secondary insurance that actually covered it, too all the pre-operative surgical testings and now I am one day post-op. one thing I will say is I'm under a lot more pain then I had anticipated, maybe I was ignoring the fact it was going to be painful so that I wouldn't freak out the day of my surgery but the gas pain is a lot more sharp and intense than I could've imagined. I'm hoping the pain will die down as everyone else has explained because I have been so excited about this surgery and now I can't help but feel I've made a mistake, I could totally be over reacting but I am also really afraid of vomiting even though I have not...yet. Like I said, most likely I'm just over reacting anyone that's a few weeks or days in that can give me some kind of peace of mind?

Thanks guys, I'm feeling a lot better this morning, I woke up every hour and walked back and forth in my house to move the gas around and finally crushed up some percocets so I can get some sort of pain killers in my system. I don't have a scale but I already see the weight loss in my face which is getting me excited all over again
