    Valentine's Challenge

    Today's weight 205.6 Valentines goal 203!
  3. Some challenges for me are: 1. Slowing down. Maybe it would help if I wasn't that hungry when I finally settle down to eat. 2. Taking my vitamins. 3. When people ask me if I had surgery or if I did it on my own. One girl asked me three times at a party because I wouldn't answer directly. 4.trying to rush the process. I'm 27 pounds from my physicians goal and I want it to happen now but the closer I get to goal the slower it moves and the harder I have to work. 5. Having a delicious meal and really wishing i could have more. I just remind myself I do get more. Tomorrow. Leftovers. All in all these challenges don't begin to outweigh the good. I was sleeved 7 months ago and love my healthier life. I love saying no thanks to unhealthy goodies that are offered to me because that was never me in the past. I love being out of pain and feeling so much better.

hunger hormones comes back after surgery

Yes I'm not a lucky one who has no hunger. I get it but I talk myself through it, it's slightly uncomfortable but not painful. I got that Jack Links turkey and cheese sticks it's only 100 cal for both. It's dense and takes care of my hunger till my next meal. Also a meal that has been really filling me up and it lasts is el pollo loco chicken tortilla soup. The small is perfect for me and maybe could even forgo the last two bites. It has a lot of chicken so the satiety lasts. Best part it's 210 calories. Just a few ideas.

    Can loose skin be minimized

Skin brushing you take a dry body brush and brush your skin in upward circular motions. It exfoliates and tightens the skin also claims to get rid of cellulite. I did it for a month and saw improvement in my skins texture it was softer. But it didn't seem firmer. Then I stopped and now I see less cellulite but I think it's from the walking I'm doing and my low cal eating. Sometimes I think I will give it another shot. It only takes a few min and it gives your skin a nice glow.

    Hungry or acid?

Hunger shouldn't be sharp and painful more like empty and rumbling. Also do the pains increase following a meal when you shouldn't be hungry? That's another sign its acid.

    Hungry or acid?

I agree. For me Prilosec didn't work but Pepcid AC did, 40mg twice a day. We're all different and there are plenty available.

    What's happening to my stomach?

I had this same thing and my dr prescribed me Prilosec. It didn't help. The pain was so severe I went to the ER. The Dr said it was GERD and I said I was already taking Prilosec. She said not all medicines for reflux are the same and prescribed me Pepcid AC 20mg twice a day. Since that day the pain hasn't returned. So if you are already on something for acid and you still have pain, maybe it's the wrong med for you. We are all different.

    Christmas - New Year Challenge

I weighed in at 213. I lost 5.8 pounds on the challenge but didn't meet my goal of 210. I guess the closer we get to goal, everything slows. Also the holidays and all the parties. Time to get back on track!

My feet have gone down in size! No longer wearing my size 11 boats now in size 10. Lol! Still big but I'm 5'10". Also, my plantar fasciitis is gone.

    Matrix Cookies and Cream

Where did you get it? I ordered this same flavor fr Amazon, hates it. I called them and told them about it. They said even though I used it they would give me a full refund. They were very nice about it.

    June 2013 Sleevers GROUP

Just checking in! Sleeved June 19 down 60 pounds from day of surgery but down 87 since 1/1/13 which was when I started meeting with my surgeon. Today was a day of a couple nice NSVs. I went shopping with some Christmas money and bought a couple pairs of size 14 jeans from NY and Co, so that made me feel good. Then went shoe shopping and discovered my foot has shrank to a size 10 from a size 11 (still huge feet but I'm 5'10"). For tops I'm still in an XL because I'm still pretty busty but that's ok. I'm still 35-45 pounds from goal so we will see. It just felt so awesome to go into a regular store and buy regular sizes and have stuff look good. That certainly hasn't been my experience in the past.

    Christmas - New Year Challenge

Today 215.8...scale moving in the wrong direction!
  21. Good for you. Yes it is definitely a disease and OA uses a 12 step approach of treatment, modeled after AA which has proven success.
  22. I think it's a great idea! My best friend goes to OA and its been very helpful for her. It will help you tackle your food issues and make a plan, plus meet supportive people. Everyone chooses their own plan of abstinence, for some it's 3 meals no snacks, for some it's no sugar, for others it's no white flour or sugar. My friend has a sponsor and that helps her a lot. Best of luck!

    Ideas On Food

When you are healing you won't really eat much of anything. I kept the ready made Premier protein chocolate drinks on hand for liquid as well as broth. For puréed Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tomato soup, scrambled eggs. For soft canned tuna and canned chicken, hummus.
