    Heading into Maintenance

Wow congrats on maintaining for so long! I also plan to continue to track, I feel in the dark if I don't. Thanks for the insight.

    One year surgiversary!

Yes I hit lots of stalls some lasting three weeks. My calories after about the six month mark hovered around 900-1000 I guess that's pretty high by sleeve standards. I exercises every day and sometimes I don't eat as clean as I should but for the most part I've been really diligent especially with protein. My advice get a calorie tracking app like my fitness pal and track everything! It has helped so much. Also, if you feel too much hunger and some pain the tendency is to blame acid and treat it accordingly. I did this for six months then the pain became unbearable last week so I went to the ER. I found out I had multiple gallstones and they removed my gallbladder. Common after this surgery. Since having it removed I haven't had that gnawing hunger feeling. So always be aware of that, it causes back pain too. Anyways good luck and I'm sure you'll rock it! I have to agree fully. I am 10 months post-op and have gone from 289lbs down to 179 so far. My clothes went from a 24W and 3X down to size 8 bottoms and large tops. My caloric intake also hovers around 1000 calories a day. But also keep in mind I am exercising (walking 5 miles and weight training) most days for 90 minutes or more. My food still is Proteins first but carbs are slowly creeping back into my life and I am gonna have to put an end to that because my weight loss has slowed because of it. Right now I am just 18lbs away from a "healthy" BMI of 25. I am really pushing to get to that goal for my surgiversary. You can do it! Especially with the exercise. Right at the close of the year my weight really stalled to the point where I thought I was done losing. But I upped my protein and Water and kept a closer eye on carbs and it came off. We just have to work the sleeve even harder the closer we get to goal. And btw you look great!
  6. Yesterday was my one year surgiversary of the sleeve. I was so nervous about it, but it was one of the best decisions I've made. I've lost 131 pounds and counting. My foot pain is gone, I'm active and feel great. I've gone from a size 22 to an 8 and actually enjoy shopping now. I'm able to do any activities my kids ask of me. I couldn't be happier!

    One year surgiversary!

Surprisingly it's not that bad. It's mostly my inner thighs and that's easy to hide. My tummy isn't that bad, of course if I could afford it I would get surgery. I think your worst areas will have the most loose skin and for me that was my thighs. Also I am 41.

Yes I don't have any restrictions. But I don't drink soda and I limit my coffee to one cup a day. I tolerate all foods but I choose not to eat refined carbs.

    Gall bladder removal...soon!

I know what you mean, I'm bummed I can't exercise yet!
  24. I am at the ER with horrible abdominal pains. I came here because my doctor can't see me till next week so she told me to go here and at least get a GI cocktail and get some tests. Well the results of the tests is I have multiple gallstones and some in my bile duct and my liver levels are high. So they admitted me and are removing my gall bladder soon! I am so relieved to finally have an answer to why I'm in so much pain. Hopefully this will help ease my back pain too. I'm definitely not prepared for this, though. I'm almost one year out from sleeve and have lost 130 pounds. I guess the gallstones are common after weight loss.

    Gall bladder removal...soon!

Hello. I had sleeve/galllbladder surgery on 4/8/14. Prior to the surgery I had severe back pain on a daily basis. Since the surgery I've had zero back pain. I'm so glad I decided to have my gallbladder removed the same time as my sleeve surgery. Sending you prayers for a safe surgery and speedy recovery. I had back pain too that developed about 6 months post op. It is good to hear yours went away. Hopefully mine will too.
