Thanks for starting this group. I'm excited and nervous but mostly excited. The nervousness is because I've never had surgery of any kind, never been put under. But the more time passes the nerves give way to excitement. I'm so excited to have a tool for weight loss. I'm so tired of the fat! -

I can relate to everything you said. There are so many ways my weight has held me back. The most I seem to be able to lose was 20 pounds. I've been thin in my younger years so its discouraging now to know what I'm missing out on. I'm scheduled for surgery on June 19 and have a lot of doubts also but I keep thinking about how much the quality of my life will improve and it gives me hope. Reading the posts and success stories also helps. -

Mines not till June 19 but yes I'm scared but also excited. I'm just so ready to lose weight. It has helped me to read people's post op stories and to see that most say its the best thing they've done for themselves.

I've heard mixed opinions on coffee. Of course, the nut tells us not to have any at all but I've also read some can tolerate a cup a day. Any thoughts?

A lot of us set for mid to late June. Good luck everybody and hope to hear how the meeting with the surgeon went. Does anybody know if they give you a set amount of weight they want u to lose pre op or do they just tell u a set time like a two week liquid diet? I fear getting this far and then not being able to lose the prescribed amount of pre op weight. -

Congrats! Just what I needed to hear as I am pre op and sometimes on the fence. -
All this talk of gastric sleeve is pretty new for me and I feel like my head is spinning! I've been to the introduction class and nutrition class, still waiting for psych eval. The thing is when I read others stories I feel good about the surgery but when I hear the nutritionist talk or read the materials from the surgeon I get confused. They say to wait ten minutes between bites, then how do you eat out? Any thoughts?
