This horrible before pic was taken two weeks ago. I'm scheduled for surgery June 19 so the after pic is on its way! Yay! Can't wait!

My surgeon told me for six weeks following surgery I need to take a minute walk every 15 min, always moving after 15 min. How did you all remember to do this? Set an alarm lol or did it just become habit. It is to prevent blood clots so I definitely want to follow his advice.

Don't beat yourself up. I think, from what the PA told me, they mostly want you to lose some weight but they won't cancel the surgery unless you gain. My surgeon said to aim for 20/30 pounds and I got really discouraged but my PA said just do your best.

Body battle how is your pre op diet going? Has it gotten any easier?

The card says please honor this persons request for a child's portion. This person has a surgically reduced stomach. I'm hoping people are nice enough without the card and accommodating. I think most places would be.

The card has the hospital logo and says this person has had weight loss surgery please allow them to order off child's menu or a smaller portion. Something to that effect. I just don't want to draw the extra attention!

I wanted to start a thread because I am pre op and wanted to ask the veterans what they wish they knew before they were sleeved. I love this site and find it much more informative because it is people's experiences, not just what your surgeon tells you.

So I met with the surgeon and found out I have to do a 3 week liquid diet for my preop, 4-5 protein shakes a day. I don't know how I'm gonna do it! Does anyone: 1. Have survival tips to pass on. 2. Have recommendations on what kind of drinks to get. I heard good things about premiere protein from Costco. Price is a factor, bariatric advantage seemed a little too expensive for me. 3. The surgeon told me his ideal is to get me down by 20 pounds but when I talked to the physicians assistant she said they wouldn't cancel my surgery if I didn't lose the full 20, only if I gained.

I have to do it for three weeks :/ I can't believe it! I start next week so I will be watching this thread for suggestions. Good luck!

I like that idea better. I think gonna have to sneak in solids here and there like an apple or lean deli turkey or string cheese.

Not salsa dancing. Not there yet haha, the yummy spicy stuff. I love salsa the hotter the better and am hoping to hear people's experience with it. Go!
