Back pain anyone?

I've lost 41 pounds since my June 19 surgery, and 62 pounds since the start of the year. My question today is why do I suddenly have worse back pain after weight loss than I did before? I thought my back would feel better after all the weight loss, but lately it seems to be getting worse. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know why that is? I'm seeing my dr anyway soon so I can also ask him then. And I am exercising, walking 45-60 min 5 days a week.

My surgery date is set for June 19th. I'm pretty nervous about a few things. I've never had surgery or been put under so that makes me apprehensive. I'm looking forward to losing weight but it doesn't seem real yet. I meet with the surgeon in May and that's when I find out what my pre op diet will be. Just overall excited but also a little nervous. Anybody relate?

I am 10 weeks post op. I never lost my hunger but this last few days the hunger pains have been really intense. So much so that before a meal my stomach hurts because of hunger, a bad pain not just rumbling. Then the hunger returns less than an hour after eating. I don't drink with meals and I eat my protein. I tried taking tums to help and it helped a little but it's still there. I'm getting 700/900 cal and exercising daily. Does anyone have any suggestions? Yesterday I felt persistently hungry all day even though I ate 1000 cal.

Usually head hunger is like a craving, thinking you want food but not real hunger. At 8 days out you are probably feeling the hunger sensation caused by excessive acid in your healing stomach. I had that really bad at first. Antacids helped and it did go away after several weeks.

newly sleeved 8/15 lots of questions
Healthier2day1227 replied to stefs_dope's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes it gets easier and please don't beat yourself up if you don't get in all your proteins at first. Just try your best, your stomach is still healing. As time passes you will find yourself able to finish a whole protein shake, but that's at about 2-3 weeks. So just keep sipping! -
Nervous and 2nd guessing
Healthier2day1227 replied to ladebugg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The after is not bad, in fact it gets a little easier each day. At first your belly will be sore and you may have nausea. You will have gas pressure in your chest. By the third or fourth day this will be behind you more or less. Then the post op diet will be the next hurdle. It will be challenging to get all your protein in, just pace yourself and take it ounce by ounce. By 5 or 6 weeks out you will feel like yourself, only better and thinner. Good luck! -
Congrats on your sleeve and being headed towards a healthy future! It can be hard in the beginning because your stomach is still swollen and healing so you can barely get your protein and liquids in. But I promise it gets easier! Just hang in there and stay positive!

Lamotrigine / Lamictal after gastric sleeve?
Healthier2day1227 replied to vsginkc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take it too. I can take the whole pill no problem. 8 weeks out and have taken it every day since I got home from the hospital. -
Any help would be awesome!

I got really sick of the sweetness of the shakes so i kept broth handy. I think the savory factor and the warmth helped fill me up. I tried to space my shakes apart evenly so I never got too hungry. I would have one at 9:00, 11:00, 1:30, 3:30, 6:00. Sort of evenly spaced. Also drink lots of water. And one more thing, avoid caffeine. It will only make you hungry. Plus you are supposed to be off it for surgery anyway. Good luck! -

Hunger 2 weeks after surgery. Which foods help?
Healthier2day1227 replied to jessyk698's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know it may sound weird, but I was hungrier in my first two weeks than I am now. I really believe it is stomach acid and your healing stomach that mimics hunger in the beginning. Hang in there! -
1 year out and still haven't hit goal
Healthier2day1227 replied to dpeeler28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't answer because I'm only 5 weeks out but I do have a question for you if you don't mind. How do you set a goal weight? Is that something your surgeon helps you come up with? My surgeon and I haven't discussed that yet and I was just wondering. Thanks!
