I am almost 2 weeks out and had a similar problem with the incision above my belly button. It turnrd out that it had opened a but... The NP admitted it probably could have used a stitch or two before the glue was applied, but needless to say I had that same yellow area without any major inflamtion, fever, or oozing. I was told the yellow area was "granulation" (there was more to it but I was worried about the fact that I was bleeding) It is a sign that the incision, though still open, is still healing. I was told to clean it with a gentle soap and water, pat it dry, put a small amount of neosporin on it and cover it with a large bandaid. That was about 4 days ago now and it's already starting to look a ton better. Definitely go see your doc or the NP. If anything they'll clean it up for you and show you how to do it yourself and give you much needed peace of mind.

I had mine on the 3rd as well. I'm a little sore, this gas is something though! Walking truly does help, but I'm tiring really quickly. How is everyone else?

I'm getting sleeved tomorrow too - first thing in the morning - I have to be at the hospital by 6. Everything is hitting me today. I haven't been nervous about this at all until this morning, it's all becoming so very real now. I feel the same way I did on the day I got married - it's a good kind of nervous. I had a food funeral myself last week... I'm being sleeved tomorrow! I had my closest friends and family over for a BBQ and asked them to bring my favorite dish that they make. We drank, we ate, and had a blast. The way I see it is that food has acted as a friend and comfort for so long that the only way I could get closure was to formally "say goodbye". Having my family and friends there to celebrate and support me made me realize that THEY will always be there for me for comfort and support. It was like a mental changing of the guard. :-)

I totally understand where you're coming from. I started my journey in January and was told I'd have a surgery date in April - May at the latest once all my pre-op requirements and tests were done. Needless to say I was all done by the end of February, but by that time they were booking out to June. I was super discouraged at that point... I had been as mentally prepared as I could be and now I had to wait even longer. After I had a little pity party for myself I thought to myself that I will have this surgery, I'm commited to it and to myself. I refused to let something as trivial as 2 months get me down. At this point I can't afford to have any negativity in my life and that all starts with me. I think ultimately your patience will will be the best thing for you to prepare mentally for the life you'll lead after the fact. Hang in there!!!

I'm going to St. E's. I love Dr. Pecquex... There was a little issue with a lost fax that I have feeling got there, but didn't make it's way to my chart... Which was a little frustrating and held off scheduling a surgery date, but everything is back on track and I am waiting for insurance approval. I work at BCBSMA and know the medical policy backward and foward so I know I've got the requirements down... I just can't wait until it's all official!!

I am having my surgery with Dr. Pecquex too!! We don't have an official date yet... But it will probably be middle to late April. Good luck with everything!

I am in Rockland, MA - having the sleeve done in Brighton at St. E's with Dr. Pecquex. I'm all done with my pre-op testing and will hopefully get get my surgery date tomorrow!!
