I actually hit 40 lbs today if you count my pre-sleeve weight loss of 13 lbs in the two week pre-surgery diet stage. I am shocked at my progress so far and so excited. I have to loose 40-50 more lbs and I will be exactly where I want to be. Almost at the halfway point! -
I was sleeved on feb 11 and so far I have lost 21 lbs. I am 5'6 and weighed 205 lbs when I went in for surgery. Does that sound like decent weight loss? I feel like I should be losing more and it's coming off slow.

Is it right for me?

Yes for sure stay away from the band. And don't be scared by the losing 80% of your stomach statement, or that it's irreversible. Look at all the success all over this site, so much inspiration. It's life changing for sure but in a good way and just what you need. I would out more weight in advice from people who have actually gone through it or who are going through it currently then people who have never had the procedure done. For me, it's already changed my life in a positive way and it's been 3 weeks. I can't wait to see how much happier I will be in a few months from now when my body lets me do the things my heart wants to. Ultimately it's your decision and you need to do what's best for you and your family. It's a long process with lots of information and counseling and support groups. You will know exactly what you're getting yourself into by the time your surgery date comes around. Good luck Hunny. -

Maybe it was pancreatitis. I was just hospitalized with that. The pain is horrible about in the same area that your gall bladder would be if I still had mine. For me the pain would also shoot kinda through me into my back. The doc said most people feel it more on their left but mine was on my right. They can run a simple test to see if your lipase is up. -

I am 5'6 and weighed 217 when I first started my preop diet. The day I had my surgery I weighed 204 lbs. I also had pre diabetes and PCOS. Those two things are what qualified me for the surgery. I say go for it. I did it and its a breeze. You will feel so much better once you lose some weight, your body won't hurt so much. Hope that helps. -
I feel like I am a slow loser!

It's been 3 weeks tomorrow and I have gone from 204 lbs to 191. Most if which I lost in the first week. Everyone keeps telling me they can see me losing weight but I don't see it. Why don't I see it? I have been really trying to do everything right. I was put in the hospital this past week for pancreatitis that they still don't know where that came from. I came home from that two days ago and had somehow gained 4 lbs! Which is ridiculous because I wasn't even allowed to eat or drink the whole time I was there. Back down to 191 now but I swear I have been stuck at this weight for what seems like 2 weeks. Frustrated. -
I buy the pure protein at fresh and easy, it's the cheapest there, at 1.75 a can.
-
Pure protein. It tastes great and has 35g a can. I also bought isopure flavorless protein powder on amazon, huge bottle for $45 and I can't tell it's in my foods. I baked the ricotta bake two days ago which btw is soooo yummy and I put 3 scoops in if and you can't tell.

About 2 wks, 3 days out? What are you eating?

I was sleeved on 2/11 and I am down about 12 lbs. I keep going up and down, it's driving me crazy. Also probably due to my period. Can't wait for that to get over so I k ow where I am really at. I too cheated and started eating soft/puréed food early, about a week post op. I can't eat much at all, about a tablespoon maybe 2. I am having a hard time getting in my fluids, since I can't drink much at a time. How long does it take you guys to drink a shake? It takes me between 45 mins and an hour. -

Yes it does. They gave me a "cocktail" on my way to the surgery room... I don't remember leaving the elevator. Next thing I know they are waking me up.
-
I shaved... It all! And that's it. I was told no scented anything or the surgery wouldn't be performed so I shaved it all.
-
I have been blending lean cuisine and they taste wonderful. This way I know I am getting healthy food high in protein and it does all the counting and measuring for me.
-
It could be that your stomach can not handle the mayo? Did you doctor recommend that to you? Just curious because I am about to hit the puréed stage myself. As for protein, I use pure protein shakes. 35g of protein in the 11 oz can. So really you just need to drink two and you made your mark. They taste great, though not as yummy as the body by Vi shakes because those do taste like cake batter. Try adding a tablespoon of baking chocolate and some PB2 and you have yourself a PB cup shake and it's healthy. PB2 is amazing super low in calories and fat and tastes delicious in shakes. I too struggle with getting my protein in because its hard for me to drink as much fluid as they want us too... Especially since we can't chug anymore. I'm not a big fluid drinker to begin with. I bought isopure flavorless protein powder to add protein to my yogurt and other soft foods and I love it. 26g per scoop and it's not gritty at all. If you mix it in your yogurt and leave it in the fridge for a bit it completely dissolves and you can't even tell. I bought mine on amazon. Gigantic bottle full almost to the lid for 45 dollars.
