It's just falling out more and more everyday! Anyone else have this problem and how do I stop it? -
7 weeks out and 27 lbs down.

I actually hit 40 lbs today if you count my pre-sleeve weight loss of 13 lbs in the two week pre-surgery diet stage. I am shocked at my progress so far and so excited. I have to loose 40-50 more lbs and I will be exactly where I want to be. Almost at the halfway point! -
I was sleeved on feb 11 and so far I have lost 21 lbs. I am 5'6 and weighed 205 lbs when I went in for surgery. Does that sound like decent weight loss? I feel like I should be losing more and it's coming off slow.

I feel like I am a slow loser!

It's been 3 weeks tomorrow and I have gone from 204 lbs to 191. Most if which I lost in the first week. Everyone keeps telling me they can see me losing weight but I don't see it. Why don't I see it? I have been really trying to do everything right. I was put in the hospital this past week for pancreatitis that they still don't know where that came from. I came home from that two days ago and had somehow gained 4 lbs! Which is ridiculous because I wasn't even allowed to eat or drink the whole time I was there. Back down to 191 now but I swear I have been stuck at this weight for what seems like 2 weeks. Frustrated. -
Is it right for me?

Yes for sure stay away from the band. And don't be scared by the losing 80% of your stomach statement, or that it's irreversible. Look at all the success all over this site, so much inspiration. It's life changing for sure but in a good way and just what you need. I would out more weight in advice from people who have actually gone through it or who are going through it currently then people who have never had the procedure done. For me, it's already changed my life in a positive way and it's been 3 weeks. I can't wait to see how much happier I will be in a few months from now when my body lets me do the things my heart wants to. Ultimately it's your decision and you need to do what's best for you and your family. It's a long process with lots of information and counseling and support groups. You will know exactly what you're getting yourself into by the time your surgery date comes around. Good luck Hunny. -

Maybe it was pancreatitis. I was just hospitalized with that. The pain is horrible about in the same area that your gall bladder would be if I still had mine. For me the pain would also shoot kinda through me into my back. The doc said most people feel it more on their left but mine was on my right. They can run a simple test to see if your lipase is up. -

I am 5'6 and weighed 217 when I first started my preop diet. The day I had my surgery I weighed 204 lbs. I also had pre diabetes and PCOS. Those two things are what qualified me for the surgery. I say go for it. I did it and its a breeze. You will feel so much better once you lose some weight, your body won't hurt so much. Hope that helps. -
I buy the pure protein at fresh and easy, it's the cheapest there, at 1.75 a can.
-
Pure protein. It tastes great and has 35g a can. I also bought isopure flavorless protein powder on amazon, huge bottle for $45 and I can't tell it's in my foods. I baked the ricotta bake two days ago which btw is soooo yummy and I put 3 scoops in if and you can't tell.

About 2 wks, 3 days out? What are you eating?

I was sleeved on 2/11 and I am down about 12 lbs. I keep going up and down, it's driving me crazy. Also probably due to my period. Can't wait for that to get over so I k ow where I am really at. I too cheated and started eating soft/puréed food early, about a week post op. I can't eat much at all, about a tablespoon maybe 2. I am having a hard time getting in my fluids, since I can't drink much at a time. How long does it take you guys to drink a shake? It takes me between 45 mins and an hour. -
Yes it does. They gave me a "cocktail" on my way to the surgery room... I don't remember leaving the elevator. Next thing I know they are waking me up.
-
I shaved... It all! And that's it. I was told no scented anything or the surgery wouldn't be performed so I shaved it all.
-
I have been blending lean cuisine and they taste wonderful. This way I know I am getting healthy food high in protein and it does all the counting and measuring for me.
-
It could be that your stomach can not handle the mayo? Did you doctor recommend that to you? Just curious because I am about to hit the puréed stage myself. As for protein, I use pure protein shakes. 35g of protein in the 11 oz can. So really you just need to drink two and you made your mark. They taste great, though not as yummy as the body by Vi shakes because those do taste like cake batter. Try adding a tablespoon of baking chocolate and some PB2 and you have yourself a PB cup shake and it's healthy. PB2 is amazing super low in calories and fat and tastes delicious in shakes. I too struggle with getting my protein in because its hard for me to drink as much fluid as they want us too... Especially since we can't chug anymore. I'm not a big fluid drinker to begin with. I bought isopure flavorless protein powder to add protein to my yogurt and other soft foods and I love it. 26g per scoop and it's not gritty at all. If you mix it in your yogurt and leave it in the fridge for a bit it completely dissolves and you can't even tell. I bought mine on amazon. Gigantic bottle full almost to the lid for 45 dollars.

I just got sleeved on 2/11 and I was told I have to wait to take my Vitamins for two weeks. I take liquid vitamins because I was told we would absorb those better then the hard kind. Was told the pills we will end up passing in our stools. Amazon has some great deals on liquid vitamins. I paid 22 dollars for a 32 oz bottle. -
Certain Uncertainty
usmcmorninngstar@yahoo.com replied to devichan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi there. I just had my surgery on 02/11 and so im about 8 days post op. I can tell you that it was very easy, hurts like a normal operation would which is completely manageable with the meds they give you. You will fly through it. I hope that helps to hear that it's not scary. I was scared too but looking back if I had known I would have laughed for being scared. As for your curves, replace them with new memories with your family. You can still have curves, just smaller ones. Embrace that because it will take away your physical pain and give you longer to spend with your family. As a mother of two myself, I know that will make the loss of your curves less hurtful. Think of the fact that when you become a grandma you will have a healthy body to run around and chase new babies with. That is the long term goal I have set for myself. Can't wait to hear how you do, and no more fear, you will recoup so fast you are going to surprise yourself. -
Just startung and have questions already!

I just got sleeved on 02/11/2013. I am already tolerating soft foods and have not thrown up at all. Actually everything seems to be going really perfect except for some issues with gas but that is getting better. I started this whole thing at 217 lbs and I'm 5'6" and 28 years old. When I went in for surgery I was down to 205. I am a week and a day out and I am already down to 195. So I think thins are going well. I have read through some posts on here and they are kinda scary! So questions I have are is it normal to be able to eat anything and not have any side affects? I feel like I can do that already, I haven't had any problems so far? I would like to know how everyone else is doing and hear about complications and successes that others are going through who are fellow sleeves. I did not mention I do have pcos which is why they allowed me to have the surgery weighing what I did. I would love to talk to fellow women who have pcos and are going through the post op phase currently. Good luck to everyone!!! -

I was supposed to stay on liquids too but they said I could eat yogurt so I did and I tolerated that fine so I have tried other things too, soft stuff like cottage cheese and guacamole and I've done great on them. Just can only have an extremely small amount. I mostly drink my protein. The hardest thing for me is getting the amount of fluids into me. I was never a big fluid drinker before and now it's harder, but I am trying. How are you feeling? Have you been losing? I am astonished how fast this is working. Nice to have another person who got sleeved the same day so we can be partners!
