Since I was a small child, I always knew I was bigger than most other kids, but had the kind of family that never made me feel bad about it. I can remember wearing a size 8 in womens jeans when I was 8 years old and thinking that was cool. I've never had body image issues, and I've always been confident with the way I look and the person I am, but I quickly realized other people had issues with my body, which is unfortunate. I've been made fun of and discriminated against in the workplace, but never let that bring me down. My goal is simple: I want to be healthy. Diabetes and heart disease run in my family and I refuse to cut my life short because of my obesity. I hope to connect with other people that have shared this unique experience and can provide insight into such a drastic, emotional change.[/font][/size][/font]
