Okay, that really does sound good! & it just doesn't get much better than 30g of protein at once! Thanks!

Bumping this one cause it's good info.

You'll get it! Hang in there. It took me 3 fills before I had any noticeable restriction. I think I could use a little more, but I want to give this a try for a while. Good luck! It's nice to know that there is someone close to home going through the same things that I am. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions..........Jess

Hi - What are my chances?
Jessiebear replied to Mrs Sabre's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! I wish you luck with your insurance! I say FIGHT! Also find out if the company you work for chose an opt out clause for any kind of obesity surgery. That was my case! We had United Healthcare at the time. Good Luck! -
I would like to have see that doctor (overweight & having asthma) take his own advice & try to run! Un-ladylike snort inserted here! I feel your pain with the asthma thing! Thanks for bumping! Great thread!

It took me 3 fills to get good restriction. I'm now at 2.5 cc & I could probably still be a little tighter but I'm choosing to remain here for a while. Up until I had this last fill I was even gaining weight. Hope this helps!

This is a great thread! I have always had the body dysmorphic issue. I have never seen (in my minds eye) myself as fat. So I avoided mirrors & pictures. Then when I did see a picture of myself I went into a tailspin. So I have been taking pictures of my face with my digital camera off & on since having this surgery & this morning is the first time I can really tell a difference. I actually look like myself! I think I will do my make-up today!! LOL! & my hair. I would attempt to post the pic but I have a bit of the bedhead. Maybe later. After I have make-up on. I do have a pic posted in my profile. It was taken in December at Christmas, right before I had surgery. Again, love this thread!

I'm a newbie from the Ark-La-Tex
Jessiebear replied to cheridoodle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
First of all welcome to Band land! I live in Conway, Arkansas. I had my band done by Dr. Rex Luttrell in Little Rock. A friend of mine went in today for his consult for the band & he told him the price is $16,000. He does have a payment option. I paid cash for my surgery also. He gave me a professional discount because I work in the medical field. My surgery cost me $14,000. I hope this helps! I think there are other docs doing the surgery in Arkansas but I don't know their names. I have been seeing a Lap-Band clinic advertised on TV though. Maybe someone will know the name of it for you. Well good luck! & once again, welcome!......Jess -

We're all here to support you! You couldn't have picked a better place! I am so excited for you! I think that you will find the surgery a breeze! The worst part being the gas pain. Just remember to walk, use over the counter gas remedies (gas-x, simethicone, phazyme, beano, etc.), heating pad on the tummy, rolling around in the bed & the only thing that gave me relief.....glycerine suppositories! Once the gas passes (no pun intended...LOL) you're gonna feel great! This is the easiest surgery I ever went through! I didn't even use pain medicine after surgery.I was back to normal in about a week. Have you ever had surgery before? And remember, it is totally normal to be nervous before anykind of surgical procedure! Just keep reading the posts. They made me feel better than anything! ((((((hugs)))))............Jess

Terrified new member
Jessiebear replied to glassarttist's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't think I got the fear of losing my identity til after I had the surgery. But I'm okay now. It took me a while though. I think what you are feeling is normal though. If you didn't have those thoughts & feelings I would think you had issues. LOL! You came to the best place in the world for support though! The folks here are awesome & can answer just about any question or fear you have! Best of luck to you & welcome to Bandland!.....Jess -
Congrats to you! Sounds like you are doing great! Welcome to Bandland!

I take vitamins, blood pressure meds, aspirin, Claritin & back pain meds. I thought I would have a problem taking these, but I'm 8 months out with 3 fills & I have had absolutely no problems! Everyone is different though.
