Going for second fill...advice and questions!
Jessiebear replied to Apryl Showers's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think one of the major signs & symptoms of slippage is nausea & vomiting. She probably wouldn't check for slippage, if she normally doesn't use fluoro, unless you had some signs & symptoms. As to the fill amount, It's different for everyone. 0.1 cc may feel the same as 1.0 cc to two different people. I would ask to stay for a little while & drink some water. If you can't feel any difference, then ask for a little more fill. She may do it. She may not. Sometime's peoples fills don't kick in for sometime later. I had my last fill months ago. I had restriction, but I didn't think it was enough & then wham! 2 months ago it just seemed to kick in. & I didn't have any restriction until I got up to 2.5 ccin a 4 cc band. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, do what you feel comfortable with. There are no rules written in stone where fills are concerned. Good luck!! -
Yep! Been there! Alex gave some really great advice. Thanks for sharing your trials & tribulations.

Surgery on 12/22 and feeling a sharp stomach pain
Jessiebear replied to jdemzi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know it was one of the guys, but I can't remember which one. I think it was something like left side pain. -
I kind of had the same problem starting out. I really didn't lose any big amount of weight until I finally got good restriction. Hang in there! There's lots of people here to help you figure this out!

Surgery on 12/22 and feeling a sharp stomach pain

Hmmmmm....... I really don't know then. I think i remember someone else posting a similiar pain recently. I'll see if I can find it for you. It may take me a while. -
If it were me & I had even the slightest thought that my fill was too tight, I would get a unfill. It doesn't have to be a huge amount. Sometimes just the tiniest amount taken out makes all the difference in the world. & congrats on the weight loss! 45 lbs.!

Is it your port? That's what I would guess. Some surgeons put them on the left & some on the right. -
On Jan. 3. I posted a new pic of me & Lonnie. It's on my birthday thread in the general LapBand Discussion forum. Could someone please make me a new avatar? I just can't figure out how to do it. Thanks!!!!

I completely utterly absolutely blew it

I went through this for a long time & still do from time to time. It's part of what got us all here in the first place. Pick yourself up & dust those knees off! & keep working for fills! It sounds to me like you still don't have proper restriction. When you do get to your sweet spot, you can't, or at least you are less likely, to cheat & over eat. But, until you get there, we are all here for you! -
Thanks! I can even tell a difference!

Plans have changed! We're not going!! Yay!!! I can stay & play!!!!

I'll have to remember this. Sometimes it hurts to swallow liquids because my band is so tight. And then other times I could eat a horse. This is good info. Especially for the newbies. Thanks

I have found the answer to no more visible panty lines for the chunky. Lace boy shorts! A couple of years ago, a friend of mine strongly recommended thongs for getting rid of VPL. Yeah right! I actually found some in my size. They have never been worn! LOL! I just couldn't do it! I found these on the Just My Size website. They are wonderful! They are comfortable & they fit! Not to mention, they are cute & cheap! Just thought I would share! :Bunny
