Stainless Steel Sink advice needed......
Jessiebear replied to princess_n_thep's topic in The Lounge
There is a stainless steel cleaner you can buy, but I can't remember the name of it. It is in a powder form like comet. I use to get it at Wal-Mart. We have really hard water (lots of iron). Everything is orange. I just don't bother with it anymore, but it does work. It used to make mine look new again. -
YAY!! Congrats! Hope you have a speedy, pain & gas-free recovery!

I'm at 2.9cc in a 4cc band & I think i'm just right!

2.9cc - 4th & hopefully last fill!

Sounds good Lyndalafe!! YAY!! -
At least for a long while I hope! I had pretty decent restriction with my third fill but still felt like I needed a little more. So he gave me 0.4cc more today. He sat me up & had me drink water & I could tell a difference. Then when I was wheeled out to the recovery room I was still drinking water & I almost made him take some out! LOL!! I told him that the water wasn't going down. He tilted my cup over & looked at me & proceeded to tell me to quit gulping my water! LOL!! I have not had this much restriction since immediately after surgery! After I thought about what he said I started grinning & said, " So this is what real restriction feels like?" He laughed. So I decided to live with it for a couple of days & see how it goes. I'm not too tight. I ate cream of broccoli soup & it went through, but with RESTRICTION!!! Finally! I'm full!!!! :clap2: :whoo:  :thumb::cheer2::woot: :D :Banane44: :Banane33: :Banane21: :Banane10:  :Banane09: :Banane20: :banana

Truely, I think I owe my sudden weight loss to finally getting good restriction. I have quit eating snacks. But, I think the one thing that has helped me the most is not eating after 7 pm. I am tracking my intake on fitday.com. If I see that I have not gotten all of my protein in, I will drink either a premixed carnation instant breakfat shake or a boost high protein premixed shake. They don't taste fabulous or anything, but they are a quick way to get protein, vitamins & minerals! As far as exercise, Until today, my back has hurt too bad to actually exercise. Even walking has been excruciating. Now don't laugh! I prayed extra hard last night for my back to get better so I could begin to exercise. I need to exercise! I'm getting flabby. Well, I woke up this morning & I was pain-free. So today, I'm going to get on the good old treadmill & if I do okay with that, I'm going to get my resistance bands out that I just bought & try to do some toning. If that goes okay, I'm going to try some Richard Simmons aerobics. I so hope I can do this today!!! Well, those are my secrets. It's nothing new, but it's working for me! Good luck everyone!!!

Well, I think I am at my sweet spot. Finally!! I have lost 20 lbs. since my 4th fill!!!!! My doc was really cautious filling to 2.9cc. He pretty much said that I was at my limit. So far I haven't lost any restriction. I hope it sticks around! Good luck everyone! I hope you all have hit your sweet spots! -
PB? Worse Experience of My Life!!!
Jessiebear replied to StrawartS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good one! If you're anything like me, it only took one real bad PB & I made sure it never happened again!!! A really bad one is true Hell!! Thanks for the laugh! ((((HUGS)))) -
I have just noticed, in the past couple of weeks, that my throat feels really weird & sometimes it is downright uncomfortable. The only way I can explain the feeling is that it's like the tightness I get when I am really holding back the tears. I haven't PB'd in many months & I am swallowing fine. I'm also chewing to goo. I just don't know. Weird. Does anyone else or has anyone else experienced this? & if so, what the heck is it? I put myself on warm liquids today to see if it helps.

Weird feelings in my throat......
Jessiebear replied to Jessiebear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone! It is completely gone today! YAY!! I really thought a lot about my eating habits during all of this. I came to the conclusion that I was trying to eat around my band. You know, get the full feeling & then wait til it's gone & eat some more even though I'm not hungry. I have since stopped this bad habit & I am eating like a bandster with tight restriction should. I'm losing weight regularly & the pain is gone. Don't get me wrong, I am tight, but I can still eat solid food. Just not very much at all. I am making sure to get all of my protein in. I am also making a conscious effort to get enough fluids in. I think it has been really hard for me to except the fact that I can survive on such a small amount of food & remain healthy. I'll admit it, I was a binger. I was a closet binger. It has taken me a year to come to terms with this. But at least it's happening. -
Cool! What a great NSV!

Nonscale Victories are the best! Congrats!

Great NSV! I have been getting embarassed when we eat out cause I get full on about 2 bites. Then I have the whole meal to take home. I know I shouldn't be embarassed, but I am. Good for you for ordering off the kids menu!! I think I need to either try this or eating off of everyone else's plates, like someone on here mentioned. I just hate going out to eat now!

I am having surgery in the morning!!
Jessiebear replied to RoxanneRoll's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Like Stacey, I had an awesome recovery! The only thing I took for pain was Tylenol! Good luck to you! I hope you have a speedy, pain & gas-free recovery! Update us as soon as you can! Yay!! I'm excited for you! -
I have always loved chocolate! But after I was banded, I just stopped craving it. But today, my Mom & Grandma were really stressing me out & we had to go the store to pick up prescriptions for my grandparents. All of a sudden I had what I'd call a compulsion, not exactly a craving. It was like I had to have lots of chocolate!!! Probably the "food is my drug of choice" thing kicking in. I bought a bag of Andes mints, 3 large belgium chocolate candy bars the size of a small paperback book & 2 bags of Reeses PB cups. I haven't done anything like this in over a year. I ate 4 PB cups & was stuffed & satisfied. I gave the rest of the chocolate away. Yay!!! It felt good! I also passed up the Girl Scout cookies being sold in front of Wal-Mart!

LOL! I need new glasses. I won't even tell you what I thought your thread title was.
