I was doing the same thing! I finally told myself no more unless it's a really good deal or comes from consignment/thrift shops. But isn't it fun!!! Wish we lived closer! We would be deadly!

My Nana says ufta (she has a plaque & it says that it means lots of bad things). My other Grandma says Dad Blame it! & sit! I once got in trouble for trying to say fudpuckers. But my all time favorite was when my Papaw picked my 3 year old cousin up from daycare (he calls Papaw, Pat) & took him with him to pick my Nana up from the doctor's office. Once they got there Papaw told him to put his jacket on & he refused. My Papaw said, "Okay, then stay out here by yourself." My 3 year-old cousin replied, "Hell no Pat." Then when they got in the building they had to wait for my Nana. All of a sudden the fire alarm went off & they began to evacuate the building. My Papaw turned around & Courtland was standing on a table leaning against the wall with his hands behind his back. Papaw asked if he pulled the fire alarm. You guessed it. He said, "Hell no Pat." Little shit!

OhHHH...... I know ya'll are excited! I have a banty hen who is setting on 2 eggs. It was an accident. I forgot to tell my Dad to check her for eggs while we were out of town. But now I'm excited. I just don't know if the little rooster is doing his job. They may not hatch. I guess we'll see around the 28th of this month. Animal babies are the best! Ya'll have fun! I can't wait to see more pics!

I totally understand! I'm a binge eater from way back. I didn't get to almost 400 lbs (my all time high) by eating fish & rice! I use to wait for everybody to go to bed & then I would sneak into the kitchen in the dark & ease the frig or the cabinets or the cookie jar open or cake pan - basically anything & everything I could that didn't make noise, & eat. It soothed all of the bad feelings that I had. That was when I was growing up, but I did it after I got married too. I did it up until 14 months ago. & even after I got my band I did as much as I could. I wouldn't go for fills so I could eat. Self-sabotage baby! I have to have control now. I'm tight. Now I smoke & drink Boost! LOL! It's 2 am for crying out loud! Boy it feels good to get that off my chest. Sorry Lisa. I think I hijacked your thread with my confession. I guess what I am trying to say is that I can empathize with you. I may have a band, but I still have my demons. And lately they seem to be multiplying. Now my Grandma's getting in on it. I hope all of the unbanded can win out over their demons. Then you can all come back & tell us how to do it. That would be perfect. Love you guys & gals!

How often do you PB?
Jessiebear replied to lins12's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
LOL!! I hope you don't either! -
I was the same way. I had more scars from the different tapes that I used Tan from the actual surgery. I finally found some tape at Wal-Mart that I didn't react ot. I can't remember the name of it, but I remember the top of the tape was kinda fuzzy like velcro. Good luck!

Cool Nsv! Congrats!!

YAY! Congrats! Sounds like you have a good doc. You're right to be cautious. Take it easy & do exactly what he says. & remember, it sometimes takes 2-3 weeks for a fill to really kick in. So have patience. Good luck!

How often do you PB?
Jessiebear replied to lins12's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
PBing or PB is "Productive Burping" or "Productive Burp". Same things, but folks say it in different ways. You get the golf ball feeling (food won't go through the band & is painful). You then get the slimes (your body's way of producing saliva to help ease the food down. The only problem is, the saliva has nowhere to go & just keeps backing up into your mouth). You eventually end up doing what we so delicately call a PB (Productive Burp). You actually hack up the food that is sitting in your pouch blocking the small opening made by your band (the stoma). The contents from the pouch usually have little to no digestive juices, so it's really not as bad as it sounds. After this happens the majority of us go on liquids or at least mushies for at least 24 hours. Hope that clears it up for everyone! LOL! I have only done it 4 or 5 times since I was banded a little over 14 months ago. -
How did you feel when you woke up from your banding surgery?
Jessiebear replied to BakoGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The first word out of my mouth when I was coming out form under anesthesia was nausea! I said that & I have never seen any one person move so fast in my life! LOL! The nurse gave me some meds & I was fine. Other than that, sleepy. -
You might ask for phenergan suppositories also. You really don't need to vomit! Call ASAP!!

WOW! Congrats! Welcome to Band Land! Hope you have a speed, pain & gas-free recovery!

Had to have an emergency unfill.....
Jessiebear replied to LapBandFan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank goodness neither one of you had a slip! Sorry you had to go through that with your doc, Brenda. I just can't comprehend how some people can have such rude personalities & still have a business. Good for you for getting a new doc! Take care of yourself! -
I Am KINKED Again!!!! and in discomfort.
Jessiebear replied to jtrek's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Goodness! So sorry you're having problems. I can kind of empathize with you. I was also self pay & had a unaccessible tilted port for the first 3 months or so after being banded. I'm with Jamie. Don't give up! I'm keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. Let us know how things go. If you need someone to talk to just PM me. -
Thanks Keri! I'm going right now!!

To supplement my protein intake, I use vanilla Boost-High Protein. They have 15g of protein per serving. They are small & tastey. I just went to their website looking for coupons (there aren't any) & found that they had recipes. I think they might be worth looking into for the new bandsters. There were 2 recipes for soup, lots of shakes & beverages & even desserts. I love my Boost High Protein. www.boost.com

Mine tilted right after surgery. It caused me a lot of pain & my doc was not able to access it for fills. I had the repair done in an outpatient procedure that took about an hour to an hour & a half (due to all the scar tissue that had built up). The procedure cost me $700. I was self pay. The repair procedure was a breeze. My recovery time was like 1 day. So even if you do have to have it repaired it's not a big deal! Good luck to you!!

2nd Day Post-Op and Needing Advise
Jessiebear replied to KINGSKID66's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If all else fails to give you gas relief, try glycerine suppositories. They saved my life! Just kidding. But they did make the gas go away. Good luck everyone!!
