Been going through a rough time for a week. I am not due for surgery until July. Been following a pre-surgery diet from my dietician. Lost 15 lbs. since December. This week I have just been eating everything in sight. I want to stop!!! I get weighed on Wednesday and am pretty surrounded will have my first gain since I started this process. Mad at myself for my loss of control.

I know just how you feel. I have six months of requirements, also. Hopefully I will get sleeved in June or July. In December it felt like forever, but just two months of doctor visits left until I can turn all the paperwork in. Very excited to get things rolling!

You'll do just fine. You're on your way to a whole new you. Best of luck. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I am new, also. I learned about this site at a support group meeting. I have learned so much from the others. I am four months into my six month process. I read every day. It helps me feel reassured that I have made the right decision and that I can do it. I too found out I'm not crazy, much to my hubby's amazement. lol. Looking forward to learning more every day.

gmanbat -- I am 67. Will be having the sleeve in July. I gave doing this a lot of thought. Wondering if I am too old. Asked at mt informational meeting and felt much better when told they have had people in their 70's. I've lost 15 lbs. on the diet the dietician gave me as prep. Excited about this when I know there are others in their 60's who are feeling so good. I enjoy your posts.

I'm 5'2". Pre-op. Four months into six month requirements for ins. Started at 252 and following dietitians diet now 237. Hoping for surgery in July. Lots of times I am the shortest AND fatest person in a room.

I guess I'm more senior than most. 67 but will have just turned 68 at time of surgery. Have two more months of pcp to finish for insurance. Want this so much. Don't feel old, just fat. Want to be able to hike on trips and do rides at amusement parks with my grandkids. Have lost 15 lbs. on pcp and dietician supervised diet. This waiting six months is so hard. It seems like forever.

Thanks so much for the video link. I've watched a few others, but agree this is the best one I've seen. It is kind of a relief to actually see it. It doesn't seem so scary now. Not scheduled till July, but am so excited.

I'd like to look in mirror. I actually avoid them, even at home. I'm over 60, but would love to shop at Victoria' Secret -- my secret desire! ???? Not be the fattest person in the room. Surgery not till July, but have lost 15 lbs. on prep diet from dietician. I want this soooo much. Been cleared by my pcp, dietician, and psychologist. Have two finish two more months of jumping through hoops for insurance. New to site, but love it.
