I use fitbit, also. Love it. It can sync to your phone and computer. You can track food, Water, steps, stairs, cal. burned, activity. It even has a wristband to wear at night and will track hours slept and times awakened. Then it gives you a readout once a week. Sent from my iPhone using VST

"Eating-too-fast syndrome".... anyone else?
ShariM735 replied to racoon_439's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not had surgery yet, but am a slow eater. Always last one to finish. When I told my friends I would have to eat slower after surgery, they said they will download movies on their phones so they have something to do while waiting for me! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I am hopefully being sleeved in July. I know I have to have a BMI of at least 40. My problem is that following my dietitians instructions, I've lost 20 lbs. and my BMI has gone from 46.9 to 42. I only had to lose 6 lbs. to meet ins. requirements. My dilemma is, will I be denied if I lose more in the next month (my final PCP supervised visit) and my BMI drops below 40? Believe me, I've never had the problem of what if I lose too much before in my life. I have Humana ins. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using VST

As you can see in my profile picture, my husband does not share my weight problem! As of this Sunday, April 21, we will have been married 47 years. When we got married, I was 20 and thin. He has watched me battle my weight for 30 years. He has never said a word about my weight. Now he is my biggest supporter. He really does give me unconditional love and I'm sure your husband does too. I too have to wait until July. Right now that seems like forever, but I started this journey November 27 and the time has gone quickly. Hope the next three months go as fast! Sent from my iPhone using VST

If You Are A Food Addict Please Read This Book!
ShariM735 replied to HetKF's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just finished reading Beyond the Refrigerator. Thanks so much for recommending it. It's a great book. I'm now reading The Sleeved Life by Pennie Nicola. It's very informative and I would recommend it. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I don't have an exact date. So far they are telling me mid-July. Yes, it seems all I think about now. I'm an older sleever - 67. Was afraid they would tell me I'm too old! I've been obese for about 30 years. Of course, I've tried and lost and gained several times over the years. I really want to spend the rest of my life in the best health possible. Don't feel old yet and don't want to! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I'm also a July sleever. I can't wait. It seems like it's taking forever. I know July can't get here fast enough. I am also Shari. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Welcome Mimiof8. Waiting is very hard. But, I started the process on Nov. 27. I'll finish my ins. Requirements on May 16. I have learned so much during the process. I realize I wasn't ready at first. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Greetings from a New Member, soon to be sleeved
ShariM735 replied to NewStarter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Newstarter -- I'm fairly new, too. I lurked in here for about a month before joining in. My sleeve won't happen until July. My info won't get submitted to ins. until the middle of May. I have learned so much from everyone on here. I feel ready to accept the good and the bad. My dietician gave me some guidelines to follow in Dec. I have lost 16 lbs. by mostly sticking to the plan. I'm about to order some Protein samples to try. I do understand from others in here that my tastes may change post-surgery. See, I'm learning! Good luck with your surgery. I'll look for your posts in here. Sent from my iPhone using VST
