Well I did call and they don't have an answer yet. My paperwork was submitted on the 25th, not the 21st as I'd thought. But they did put down a tentative surgery date of April 4th, which would be perfect.

OMG, I got my approval today! I finally got it. I am so excited. I go to see my surgeon on Monday and I will get my date then. I am hoping to have my surgery on April 17th, but we will see. What a happy Friday!

Went to my mandatory pre op class yesterday. Pretty much just a two hour review of foods and exercise. Today I have my LAST appointment before the surgery on 3/6. Wow!
I just wanted to throw out there my personal experience so far with shakes too. I've been trying different flavors of nectar shakes this week on my pre op diet. Last night was double stuffed cookie which rocked. Smells like a Protein Shake but tastes way better! This morning was chocolate truffle and I added one tbsp of PB2. Another win! So good! Perhaps I will try one of the juices for lunch! Hope everyone is doing great!

All of your moments make me cry because I've had those too!
For me though, my moment was when my doctor told me I was "one snickers bar away" from full blown diabetes and the only way the symptoms of PCOS would go away would be if I were to lose a significant amount of weight and if I didn't lose it then I would never have the chance to have biological children. I'm already 32 and my time is running out and it scares me as I always said I would grow up to be a mummy one day.
It does crack me up a little that I'm going for this. Both for admitting that I need help and the fact that I was the one that told my mother (when she got banded 5 years ago) that all we needed to do was to go to WW together and we could lose the weight for real.

Me! I'm scheduled for April 8th in Dallas. My highest weight was around 391 but I've lost about 40 lbs on my own since then. Ideally I'd like to weigh between 150 an 170. That is kind of my goal. I'm 5'3" so I think that'd be a good weight for me after a lifetime of being overweight.

Lets see, could it have been the same inconsiderate person asking me on 2 different occassions when I was 'due'? Or distant relatives saying "well if you are happy at that size then it shouldnt matter what others think"? Or always having to squeeze into a restaurant booth? Or being ashamed to even eat in front of people for fear of being judged? Or always having to shop in the big girls section at any store and only fitting into clothes my gramma would wear? Or not being able to reach to shave the back side of my legs? Or having to be a contortionist to wipe my ass? Pick one. I lived with constant humiliation and shame. Now I dont shop at the big girl stores, no one asks if Im pregnant, people are amazed at how little I eat at one time, I can fit in any booth, shave my legs and wipe my ass like a champ I love my sleeve. I have so much energy, I sleep great and most importantly, Im proud of myself.

My coordinator just submitted my paperwork to BlueCross BlueShield on Friday 2/15 and I am anxious. Tomorrow I go in for my EKG, blood tests and the drink test. I cannot wait to just hear you have been approved. I want this life long battle to be over. I am so glad to have found people that relate to what I have been going through.

Just saying hello to everyone I was given a tentative surgery date of February 13th the other day and I'm extremely excited. I'm a married mother of 3 girls 14, 7 and 5. I live in NJ and I'm having my surgery done by Dr Rohit Patel at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. I just finished my first round of pre-op testing. So, I'm about to start round 2 with psych, nutriion and education I'm told. Glad to have found others getting sleeved in Feb as well!
Also crossing my fingers and hoping Amerihealth cooperates

Right now, this all-consuming obession with VSG is getting the best of me! I'm making myself crazy with research, planning, and prepping for surgery. And its THREE MONTHS AWAY! I feel like a crazy woman....there are nights I can't fall asleep for thinking about this! Ha ha! Worse than a little kid - he he....

Glad to have helped, I went through the same exact thing. Waiting and waiting. It's kinda sad when the patient has to school these insurance coordinators. This seems to be a common mistake these coordinators make. Well you are on your way!!!! BCBS seems to be pretty quick once the paperwork is in order. Pretty soon you will be shouting "I'm Approved!!

Well my gut told me to call the insurance company and I'm glad I did. Thanks to the info from Just1Girl, I talked to someone from the Pre-certification department and none of my information had ever been received. My coordinator just faxed it over to the number on the back of the card and she actually needed to speak to someone and from there they would tell her where to send my information and get me over to the medical review department. So the wait begins again. Slightly frustrated but I'm patient so, here we go again.
