Did ya'll know there is an annual seminar/party for bandsters held each year here in Texas (there are others in other places). The one this year was last weekend and it was here in Dallas. They have classes by doctors, dietitians, psychologists, exercise physiologists, plastic surgeons, etc and other bandsters. PLUS lots of fun stuff. We usually get a little rowdy and drink too much but a good time is had by all. It is in April every year and you can always find out about it at www.texasbandsterbash.com There is one in Las Vegas, Florida, Seattle, and Rosarita Beach, Mexica (Baja) but I haven't been to any of those....yet!

I understand the docs at SCOR in Richardson do fills for other surgeons. If you go on the bandbuddies yahoo site and talk to Melissa, she is their co-ordinator and can give you more info. The DFWbandsters yahoo site can provide other names, I'm sure. Bev

Hey, ya'll I know there is a female surgeon doing bands in Tyler. You might try to call her office and see if she has a support group. I don't know if there is one in Longview but you could call the OR at Good Shepard and they can tell you. Ya'll could start a support group!

Hey, I used to live outside of Hawkins! My daughter went to Hawkins for a year. I have a lot of family in that area. I don't know of any support groups right there but I know there are some people spread out over north-east TX and some in Marshall. If you belong to DFW Bandsters on Yahoo, these people post on there and call themselved the East TX group. Who is doing your surgery? My sister wants to have it and hasn't been denied but is having trouble getting it approved. She lives in Mt Vernon but used to live in Quitman! Small World! Bev

I am in Flower Mound. Was banded Dec 2002 and have lost 80 pounds. I am almost to goal and looking at plastic surgery at this point. We have a support group that meets each 3rd Sunday at Mimi's in Grapevine at 6 pm, if anyone is interested. We are also trying to do some boot camp stuff but having a little difficulty getting it going since we are kind of spread out.... Bev

If you go to the yahoo group DFW bandsters, there is a group of several people in the Marshall area. They just call themselves the East TX group.

I went last year and had a great time. I plan to go this year as well and already have my room but haven't registered yet.
